I'm living in a country that has plenty of garden stores that sell soil nutrients but when I ask them about hydroponic nutrients they have no clue to what hydroponics is. However I did have some luck today when I found a store that sells a product called hydroflex. Has anyone heard of or used this product? I'm trying to avoid ordering anything online only because the shipping cost ($200 usd) is more then the products I want to purchase. One more question, I'm very new at growing plants and I purchased some great seeds which are germinating and 6 out of 9 have started to rise above the cubes I planted them in. Can you tell me how big do they have to grow before I can put the cubes (1"x1"x1") into my hydro grow medium which is clay pebbles? My system is an ebb and flow and I'm using a hps 400w sun agro lamp. Is this light to strong for germinating?
Thanks, :rasta:

Where are you looking at getting those nutrients? I haven't seen anywhere that the shipping is that high. I found my local hydro store on maps.google.com and just searched Hydroponics near my ZIP code.
Anyways, what I did was I had the rockwool cubes surrounded by hydroton in my E&F system and put the germinated seeds right in there. Its been 5 days and they are doing pretty good, but may have stretched a tad due to my light placement. Basically, you can put them in whenever you feel like it.
Also, it would be better to veg under something other than HPS, such as MH or CFLs because of the spectrum, but it won't be detrimental to your grow. Just make sure the light isn't too close or the plants will burn. Good luck!

I'm living in Lithuania and the items I was ordering were coming from the UK. I was shocked at the shipping cost so I held off but I just placed an order with another supplier today and I'm waiting for his shipping quote. I guess as soon as I get all the nutrients I'll put my plants into my hydro system. Hopefully that will be within a week.
I was hopeing someone knew about the Hydroflex nutrients because they come dry in a 20lb bag at the cost of 50 US dollars.
I figured that would last me forever if it was any good.
Anyway, Thanks for the feed back:rasta:
