NEW YORK - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tehran is neither building a nuclear bomb nor headed to war with the United States in a television interview ahead of an appearance at Columbia University on Monday.
The public-relations push appears aimed at presenting his views directly to a U.S. audience amid rising strains and talk of war between the two nations.
Ahmadinejad is to speak and answer questions at a Columbia forum Monday, followed by a scheduled address to the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.
Columbia's invitation has drawn howls from politicians, religious groups and other organizations. But the university has not backed down, and its president, Lee Bollinger has promised to grill Ahmadinejad on subjects such as human rights, the Holocaust and Iran's disputed nuclear program.

Lee Bollinger should also ask why if they don't want war why do they chant "Death to America"?
Have a good one!:s4:

Yeah we'll see just how much this guy "grills" Ahmadinejad.
Although I'm sure all this visit will do is accomplish exactly what he wants, fooling some of our public into believe he's not a complete whackjob with military nuclear aspirations so when the time comes there's enough dissent here not to stop him.

i don't think so... i have been watching major news networks, and they seem to be spinning this against iran right now.
only way to know is wait and see...
I am excited for politics right now, it is entertaining to see which way the american public will take this...

Lmao, wow. Yes, I'm sure we should go to war and kill people for something as stupid as that. Why would you go to war for something so stupid?

Well I'm watching Ahmadinejad speak right now and yes, the university president grilled him about as harshly as possible:thumbsup:
I can see now why conservatives are protesting his speaking. I can already feel my brain considering information other than US government propoganda! Dangerous, I know.

I can see it already...we invade iran due to the fact that during this visit, the iranian president winks at bush and 'finger shoots' him...another stupid reason to invade another stupid country...who knows, we'll see.

HAHAHAHAHA, OMG did you guys see it? When they asked about Iran's policy of executing homosexuals he said "In Iran we don't have homosexuals, like in America". The whole audience erupted in laughter, and I joined them:D

He's just another politician. Doesn't matter what country they are from, you can't believe a thing that comes out of there mouth. Probably the only plus he has is that he probably hasn't killed as many innocent civilians as Bush has.

I thought Ahmadinejad performed nicely. One thing everyone is overlooking is that he's trying to make peace with us. We shouldn't be pissing him off because we have no right to tell him not to make nukes. He claimes he isn't but we can't trust him. This is where we split on this issue. War with Iran would be a bigger mistake than Iraq. Sorry i'm wasted right now :stoned::stoned:
I also thought it was funny how he said there were no gays in Iran. It's because if you're gay you're likely to be stoned to death or something lmao.
