Should I risk it?

Hi all!

Okay, here's my story: I haven't smoked since I really tripped out in late July, so it's been about two months. I still have some of that sweet weed left (the weed itself is fine, I just smoked too much and started freaking out).

Now I'm getting a strong urge to smoke again, I mean, REALLY STRONG!

Here's my problem, I'm currently looking for a job. I graduated college back in May and haven't got a job yet. So the types of jobs I'm looking for shouldn't drug test.

Question is: should I just say "Fuck it" and smoke anyway and just avoid applying to places that drug test?

Why do you assume the types of jobs you're applying for shouldn't drug test? If you're applying for degreed-professional jobs, chances are a lot of them are going to test.

If I were you, I'd think about the bigger career picture instead of the more immediate desire to get high and try out your new bowl right now, but you could have guessed I'd say that.

I should probably clarify that most of the jobs I'm applying for are professional sales-type jobs where you're pretty much sitting at a desk talking on the phone all day (not telemarketing though, I'd never do that).

I think you can find out whether or not the companies you'll be applying for will need drug testing. I don't know the laws in the States but I don't think desk job needs it (but don't quote me on that... :) ) Why don't you ask around ppl who are in your field?? You don't have to tell them you smoke but just ask what are the procedures like when hiring.

drug testing is a joke. and if you are going to drug test, don't test for cannabis.

get your job...make that money, then after u have that test blaze it up...most professional or business style jobs DO piss test...do u really think that banks or stock brokerage firms,etc want a "stoner" in an important position?

Part of the problem is I thought I'd have a job by now. The job market, at least where I live, isn't all that great, so it has taken longer than I expected. I guess in theory it could take another several months to land a job. I don't think I can go that long without toking.

Before I had my really bad trip in July, I was getting high several times a week and loving every minute of it. Business-to-Business sales jobs are known for a high turnover rate, so most won't drug test because they have a hard enough time keeping qualified candidates as it is.

Anyway, if I go on much longer without finding a job I'll just have to invest in some Quick Fix 4.0 and prepare myself for the worst.

BTW: I have a promising interview tomorrow! It's with a friend of the family who works for a really small company (less than 10 employees). I'm not going to jinx myself, but send your good vibes my way!!!
