ok, so my light is normally 15in. from top of plant canopy and i have great success...don't use expensive ventilation but there is plenty of air flow cuz i use a curtain and fans instead of complete enclosement...anyhow my Mandala's love the heat so i lowered the light another 3-4in. and all my plants have lost their stickiness...seems the light was too close for the Nirvana strains and the head colas are now very dry and the bottom colas are real sticky...plants were only under closer lights for 2 days but the effects were horrible...i was 5-7 days close to harvest on many and now the plants seem less potent than 4 days ago...will they recover their stickiness now that i've raised the light or is it too late? still a rookie and this seems like a big mistake...any advice would help...would u just harvest as scheduled or do u think they'll recover and regain that sticky-icky coating that we all love so dearly?

400watt hps with 9 square feet...curtain has 12 in. open on top and bottom and 4 small 4in. fans on 24/7 for circulation...temps b/t 70-75 and 63-66F at nite...when i lowered the lights temps went up about 5 degrees on both ends

I'd say give them an extra week, they might swell and kinda cover over the burnt part. i've had this happen before and it helped a little. hope it will work. other then that I dont know what to say. -House

if its burnt it probably wont grow back but the rest can still grow fine if its not damaged
sounds like burn from light i also use 400watt hps and i need 1-2 feet or so depending on plants i have had some take the heat a lot better than others and i have burn to death many others, its just part of learning it took me a whole year to learn what to do when to do it and also my own unique tricks (i am sure others use the same ones i just dont hear about it) i have also designed my own hydro system (i bought a lot of good cheep parts from my local irrigation shop that went out of business) WOOHOO! 55% off everything! but i oly got 2 years under my belt so what do i know? NOTHING! FYI: my last grow was bouncing around 102-107F here in the summer and it went fine im smoking the wonderful erb now ;) so some strains do better than others i pick the more heat tolerant ones due to my location

I had the same problem also I let mine go a little longer and I think it diminished the over all quality, whats done is done just think of it as a lessoned learned.

before harvest give them 24hrs of uninterrupted darkness...sometimes that helps bring out a little more stickyness

You may have just dried out the resin. I mean, the resin is probably still there, just in its hard, dry form, rather than its sticky form. But the only thing missing is probably water, not THC.
