pink floyd is such a great and inspiring band. there music and lyrics is amazing, uncomparable to any modern day music in my opinion (of its style)

whats your top 3 floyd songs?

1.Wish you were here
2.Breath
3.Money

lol. dude, none of them are the best. what about time, confortabley numb, another brick in the wall, coming back to life, brain damage, keep talking, us and them.

there are countless songs that could be the best, but I wouldn't choose any of those 3

I wanna bump this thread. I want all Floyd fans in here to show some love and remind us why we love this great band. They are my fav band of all time, there's nothing like blazing a fatty and drifting away to Floyd. They have so many albums to listen to and they're basically all amazing except ummagumma. Long live Floyd! If my child doesn't like Floyd i'd be so gutted.

Pillow of Winds
Sheep
Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast

Reefer Rouge, all my kids grew up listening to Pink Floyd. Two of them still like them and one listens to country and western. That's over 60% success rate. :smokin:

It's too tough picking just three songs, I'm having trouble picking three *albums*. :)

In Pounds, Dollars, and Pence. ( L $ d) - Roger Waters.

Interstellar Overdrive.
Matilda Mother.
Eclipse.

My top 3 list changes daily, lest I "amuse myself to death".

I had my picture on a PF poster in the 60s.
I was sitting atop a Certain, English, Upright, Rosewood Piano, attempting to play it with my toes, when the artist they hired to create the poster got home.
He walked in, froze, said don't move and grabbed his poloroid.[attachment=o234859]
As a modeling fee, I got free tickets.
Note the price.:D

is that the piano at the old Family Dog ? (showing our age, here ;) )

I doubt it.
It belonged to a band called Orville Normal From da Coventry road commune.
The Lead guitar was also a graphic artist.
(Some guys get all the talent).
I was the "lead grower". ;-}

Takes me back.:)

3 favorites... can't do it. Might be able to pick 3 favorite tracks from each album.

I'll try, I was listening to Momentary Lapse of Reason just this morning.

learning to fly
on the turning away
... no can't even narrow it down to 3 off a singe album.

I even have the 'back catalogue' artwork on my desktop... so is she a real Pink Floyd fan or is she just a fan of painted bottoms? I'll let you decide.

For me personally, Meddle was the best. Just love the mellow spaciness of it.

Of course, the whole Pink Floyd catalog is great. Really my favorites stack up like this:

Meddle
Dark Side of the Moon
Animals
Wish You Were Here
Atom Heart Mother
the rest in no particular order

For those fans who are familiar with Dark Side of the Moon, but not Atom Heart Mother and Meddle, I recommend them. As you listen to them, you will notice a clear progression leading to their most popular album.

Do you realise how hard it is to break up your posts for quotes with all them tags? My head's spinning and not just because it's late at night and I'm well medicated for bed.

My head's spinning and not just because it's late at night and I'm well medicated for bed.

just inject some color to the quote and your words will stand above the masses..

and all it takes is a lil tag here and there ..i have mine all set on a sticky so i can use it in different places.. or colors or sizes too!

i took this leaf from the weez after i got tired of putting in tons of tags trying to reply to messages

Yeah, a lot of younger Floyd fans only know The Wall and Darkside, which are both amazing albums don't get me wrong. It's not their fault wither, that's all the radio will play. But i'm gonna show my child all of floyd from pipers to the division bell. Meddle is awesome, doesn't it start with echoes? ahh live in pompei good times. Atom heart mother is beautiful, i heard it took them a year to make it. 10 minutes in the guitar from funky dung is amazing. Then pillow of winds is beautiful, summer of 68, fat old sun. There'll never be a band that'll surpass floyd for me.

I enjoy guitarist David Gilmour's work, after Pink Floyd, too ... Netflix has an outstanding Gilmour concert on DVD, does a lot of his Floyd biggies, plus some of his own ... remarkable concert, I give it a 10, easily

I really like Roger Waters solo work too. Radio K.A.O.S. is a great album.

An Matilda Mother, an' Lucifer Sam....:)
The Gnome!
Yup, I'm a Sid Barret freak.

Traded a large, pewter, Mayan Calendar for my second Floyd album, cause I had no cash.:hippy:
Walked into the store, barefoot, as soon as the album hit the streets.

Asked to speak to the record store manager.

Told him that I was flat broke, but honest.
Said the fact was, I didn't think I would be able to leave his store without that album.
Asked if he wanted windows cleaned, floors swept, or what can I barter.
Seems he understood the love of music.

He accepted the huge, clunky, medallion that another trippy had hung around my neck on a rawhide thong.

A gift of love for a gift of love.
We became good friends.

A man of many talents :D

Pshaw! Just old enough to have tried many things.
But, thanks.:)

As tags, it's prolly confusing, byzantine even!
Downright discombobulatin', yah?;)

No worry there's a fix.
Unless your machine can not do wysiwyg, just click on the tiny white square with 2 A.s in it at the top right of the edit window.
That toggles between editor modes.
Then you can just copy n paste normally.

If not, goto your preferences and turn wizzywig back on.
