oh i thought that was your dog hehe, roemary looks tuff as hell but im sure shes just a big marshmellow hehe

she can be but she is the guard of the house she has come very close to attacking friends that have never come over before and made any sudden movements, when anyone comes over that is not a regular they can expect her to always be 2ft away from you.but the second pic nikki shes the marshmellow the last one bear she the one that has to go up when anyone comes over because she has bitten ppl before

i hear ya... my dog bruin (the american staffordshire bull terrier) is learning to be good when i have friends come over, he gets way too excited and jumps and play bites all the time, so i just keep putting him outside until he comes in the house acting calm :)

Training for your dogs will help.....let your friends pet them, play with them etc.....putting them outside just reinforces the idea that they shouldn't have contact with people. If you need to.....put them on a leash. Those types of terriors have excellent personalities (with people...generally) if well socialized. I love all those bull-type breeds.....and won't have one anymore until I can watch them like a hawk until they are well into their adulthood.

my rosemary does well after she see's that they are friends and no threat but its when ppl she hasent seen before come in and like try to like shake my hand or if they get loud or make movements towards me she try's to protect me,nikki is just a big mush when she first meets someone and bear is usually fine i just have to raise my voice. the incident were she bite(sp) someone i was out of town and she was in my mothers care and apparently a friend of hers came over and went to give her a hug and bear nipted her in the leg nothing bad but it still makes me worry.

Tox
09-22-2007, 07:19 PM
ya my dogs smart enough to know when i put him outside he messed up... i dont keep him out there too long just long enough that he know's he messed up so i keep brining him back into the house until he acts normal, it doesnt make him think he shouldnt be in contact with humans. this method is working so ill stick to it.

Sup ,
O/E 800 -n- Weedhound are right w/ Lokis breed = Neapolitan Mastiff .
The breed currently holds the world record for largest dog at 278 lbs. , and largest litter of surviving pups at 24 . Lokis just a lil guy tho 155 - 160 lbs.

Hey Weedhound ,
Yeah a cat too . Shes pretty much a cellar dweller though cause shes scared of Loki . Dogs , cat , fish , birds , and frogs . Not quite the zoo you have huh . Were looking for a Nanny dog breeder thats close too , I want another all white staffie .
Peace

My two dogs

Buddha is a Weimaraner and Vizsla mix

He has no balls but you wouldn't know it by the way he tries to dominate other dogs. When we take him to dog parks he basically tries to start trouble especially with more intimidating dogs.

Bear is a Rottweiler and Labrador mix

She is a hog and gets a piece of what every one else eats. She even goes as far as to impress us around dinner by showing that she eats her own food. She also can be pretty dominate and tends to try to hump Buddha. If me and my brother are wrestling she will try to hump who ever is winning.

Hey ntcrawler, looks like Buddah and Bear, in the first two shots, have this look on their little faces like "Damn, daddy, is making us wear those silly-assed antlers again, and oh hell, here he comes with the camera!" LOL. Good looking pets, people.

Besides my Rhodesian Ridgeback, Bella, I also have two other "children", Buddy and Bandit, my two mutts, which of course, are males. Bandit is the black and white one, miscevious as all hell, and Buddy, the tan and white one is the sweetest one.

The "boys", as the wife and I call them, get to guard the outside, and Bella is Queen of the castle inside.

Bandit enjoys drinking from the toilet (we have since learned to just shut the door), and stealing my wifes underwear after she folds it from the wash. He also likes to chase squirrels and butterflys. Hasn't caught one yet. Still trying, though. Bandit is single, and is looking for a hot mama to set his tail to wagging.

Buddy enjoys watching television and barks when other dogs come on. His hobbies are eating, sleeping, pooping, and peeing. Buddy is also single, and wants an honest, loving young female to perk him up a bit.

Bella enjoys eating toilet paper (don't ask me why), stealing my auto wash mits, and also watches television. She enjoys Gordon Ramsay's Hell Kitchen, and barks every time they bleep Ramsay's F words. Bella is single as well, and prefers to find another Ridgeback male to help her corner Lions.

OEB x Boxer, F, almost 5 years old. She's a big girl but thinks she is a lap dog. Very sweet, not protective of the house, but very protective of me personally. Loves EVERYONE unless you come up and try to touch me suddenly. Knows hand signals as well as vocal commands. Rescue dog, former stray.

awww... sad Stinky. that's terrible when your pet dies, I hate seeing that. I have a 2 y/o African Grey named Sabian and a 12 mo old female rott names Malice.
The funniest thing is she will whine to do something she shouldn't, well Sabian will chime in and say NO! baaaaad giiirrrl, noo whine! it's the funniest thing ever, and she actually quits. I haven't had to yell at her for that for a while now.. but overall shes a pretty good doggie :D

Thanks!! shes a good time, so if anyone wants a pet that will NEVER fail to make them laugh, a parrot is for you if you have the time and patience for them. I have to say besides my volcano, that was the best $$ spent with no regret. She will repeat anything the same way you did AND in her ways which is absolutely hilarious. Now if we could only post sound clips...

One thing to everyone, never never never never ever smoke around a bird... they have air sac's and are wayyy different from us. A portion of the air sac actually integrates with the skeleton so it doesn't take long for something toxic to go throughout their bodies and kill them.

with that said.. hmm if that were the same for us we'd be high beyond belief in like 2.2!:jointsmile:

I do know about einstein, really good talker and a sweet parrot, but nowhere near Alex (1976 - September 6, 2007) Absolutely amazing...the subject of a thirty-year experiment... RIP buddy..:(

My cat Pippin. Yes he was named after the character from Lord of the Rings. He is about as laid back as he can be. He's about 10 years old, weighs in at 14 1/2 pounds, and when he is streched out, he's almost 4 feet long. He is strictly an inside cat... he knows there is an outside, he just doesn't care to go there. :D

I think its called Grágresi the flower you were mentioning. About visiting Iceland then if you wanna go you should visit as soon as possible. The icelandic Króna(the currency in iceland) is very weak right now and it would be very cheap for you to visit. So sorry to hear of all your recent losses! My heartfelt empathy! PR

And thanks for sharing! It is such a personal thing! We all have so much pleasure with our pets.

I am not a picture poster, yet (will get a camera and learn, I promise)! But, when I become one, will post my little ones! A red little Pekinese (Spark (ie)) and a black, white and grey Shih tzu (Carson)! My little Pek has more self esteme than most people and doesnt' need mmj and with one eye, the neighbor's killer dog tried to kill her. I sold out and moved! ASAP! Was kind of hard taking care of the dog over months trying to save her little eye (but couldn't-was told lucky dog survived) and sell a house, but done and gone from there! She has a pretty expensive 'no eye'! But, a little lover! Only dog I know that will thump on your chest at 1 A.M. to put her nose on yours to tell U, take me outside please!

Good luck to all with your very well loved pets! PR

awww... sad Stinky. that's terrible when your pet dies, I hate seeing that.
I haven't had to yell at her for that for a while now.. but overall shes a pretty good doggie :D

nice congo :D Heres my 1.5yr old timneh, paco, flapping his wings and my caique parrot chico. Mine also says baaaad, whenever the caique starts screaming to be let out. also tells him to shut up but it sounds more like shhhhhhhh up. it actually does shut him up but only for a few seconds and then repeats and repeats. Does yours like to hang upside down and thrash his head in a figure 8 pattern? Mine does. haha.

My Lady Doberman Pinscher....

She was 1 1/2 yrs old when I met her.

She was going to be a jail sniffer out at the West Side jail but I met her and after a 2 minute greet...we had it for one another and so it was she became my Lady Dobe.

Ckym is now almost 9 and still has it going on.

She's saved a life the 1st winter here and has stopped crime many times over on our property in a four plex.

Three familes now have a Dobe because of Ckym and all three are families with small kids.

Of all the breeds...a Doberman walks on their toes like a cat and trots and gallups like a race horse.

Of the 243 something breeds, the Doberman is in the top 3 for intelligence.

A most remarkable breed and the rewards and blessings that comes from owning a Doberman just keep on coming year after year after year.

While in public the Doberman is sure to put on the Dobe Act.

But at home with family, the Doberman acts like a 6 month old lab puppy.

Always alert and attentive and yet always there to comfort and just be close to all the action and times together with their family.

Of all the dogs I have trained and/or owned...the Doberman is the most remarkable breed to have the experience in knowing.

Heres my boy cocoa, he may be a small pom but he's tough shit for an old guy. One day he got run over by a guy on a bike (spun around the wheel and everything) and then after he walks off like nothing happened. Considering how small he is in comparison to the bike wheel and all.

The next pic is one of my pups before I had to give them away :( They were Australian cross German Shepherds, these guys would have fucked shit up when they were grown.

ok. i finally got around to taking pictures of all my animals. here is the crew.

pic 1- a new cat i found while taking the trash out the other day. we have been calling him shelf because he likes, well, shelfs.

pic 2- poof. one of the 5 rats that we have currently. there are only 3 that are kept as "pets". a better description would be, 3 that aren't served as food. we started with two (she is the mom/grandma of all the rats we have had, the dad died the day the first batch of babies was born. weird, huh?)

pic 3- shrinky-dink. a mouse that was bought for food that got lucky!

pic 4- guinness. a pit bull, rescued from a local pound.

pic 5- the one on the left is boomer, another pit rescued from a local pound. he was on the death wagon when my wife got to the shelter after seeing him online.

to be continued.....

here is the rest of them.

pic 1- my other two cats. the one on the left is fat tire. he was donated from my wifes old boss. the one on the right, shiner. she came from the same shelter as the two dogs. she was our first "traditional" animal.

pic 2- crush. my reticulated python. he is about 9 feet long. i've had him since he was a hatchling.

pic 3- scarlett. my red-tailed boa. got her from a friend.

pic 4- the ferrets. i know it's hard to tell but there are 3 of them there. havoc is the white one. klepto is the one in the foreground. and underneath the pile, barely visible, is chaos.

think that's about it......for now!!!

Doobee im so glad somebody else shares my thoughts on Doberman's. I have a ten month old male red, and he is the best dog i could ever ask for. When i was about to get him (paid for him before he was born but obviously had some time to wait until he was ready to come home) my whole family (not educated on dogs very well) started to freak out thinking that they were the experts on Doberman temperment. all i heard is that he was going to end up biting someone or that dobie's were way too agressive to be family pets.

Toby 80 pounds now and very intimidating looking and is a HIT everywhere we go. he loves meeting new people and is always friendly and accepting and he is one of the best behaved dogs that i have ever seen let alone owned. He is never agressive when we're in publc, sure he gets distracted when he see's something he's never seen before but if i tell him to come it doesnt matter what he's doing he dropps it and is sitting at attention at my feet as soon as he can make it there.

He plays extremely gently with my little sister and her friends when they come over. The only times that he even gets remotely aggressive is if another dog is being agressive towards his family, or if my sister is around and a person he doesnt know comes around. He still doesnt attempt to bite or anything, he just bows up and stays between the person and my sister at all times. it's amazing how intelligent he is even though he's still a puppy!

This is my first Dobie, i had a couple labs growing up, but now im hooked. i will have a doberman for the rest of my life no doubt.

Lily is a hoot, takes forever to walk around with her. The beagle in her takes control and she absolutely *has* to sniff every square inch of ground. :)
