Rather than blindly adhere to the claims made by the US government and certain conservative talkshow hosts, I say we actually do some independant research and establish some cross-cultural understanding. There are so many "facts" about the Iranian president that so many people take for granted, not actually taking the effort to verify these claims for themselves.
As I've come to realized more and more, the most powerful political tool is to simply make a lie, say it with total confidence as if it's indisputable truth, and say it again and again. Do this, and pretty soon people just stop asking question.
Well I say we have to keep asking questions, and absolutely everything should be open to questioning. These politicians who insist that certain people (like Ahmadinejad) shouldn't be allowed to be heard are an insult to democracy and free speech, and we should all be highly suspicious when an opponent isn't allowed to give their side of the story. I don't care if your a nazi, communist, KKK member, or lizard people proponent. If you're wrong, we have nothing to fear from hearing your arguments and logically countering them. Suppression of such only validates your opponent.
That being said, I encourage everybody to watch the following video's of Ahmadinejad and *gasp* hear both sides of the debate.
Ahmadinejad did not threaten to ??wipe Israel off the map?.

Ahmadinejad clarifying his stance on holocaust denial. He is not claiming the holocaust didn't happen as a fact, he's saying that absolutely everything must be open to analysis, and they're researching it for themselves. While I know 100% that the holocaust did indeed happen (my grandfather saw it first hand), I agree with him 100% when he says that it's wrong that we have certain issues which are established as fact and therefor won't allow any argument to the contrary.

Making very valid arguments for why they despise the American, British, and Israeli governments.
YouTube - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Nuclear Threats (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ywoLsATW9w)
Making his argument about Iran??s right to produce nuclear energy, and their intentions regarding nuclear weapons.
