usually because of wide temperature variations ... can also be from phosphorous deficiency, but I wouldn't worry about that, it's mostly cosmetic ... your lights are too far away, plant is stretching ... looks like you used too much nitrogen, burnt tips ... but, not bad, considering ... flush it well before harvesting ... good work, keep it simple ... :smokin:
hey thanks image reaper, if i grow again it will be done more professionally with hps lights and better nutes... right now im using Monte's liquid plant food 8-16-8, i dont think its the best choice but its all i had... this grow was very very cheap. btw it's just some skunky reg seed... got lucky with one seed :)
i clipped alot of lower fan leaves and nodes because they werent getting enough light... hopefully that will give the better parts of the plant more food and stuff :smokin:

you did very well, too ... anytime a newbie can keep a plant alive, let alone grow a bud, that's good growing ... hell, I still have troubles with the first couple weeks, every time ... :D
I'd lay off that pruning, it can cause more problems, than it will help ... if they're blocking light, just bend them outta the way ... as you get closer to harvest, they will yellow, die, and fall off ... that's perfectly normal ... :smokin:

First off, I agree with IR. Anytime a newbie gets to a harvest, they've done well. Good job!
One teeeensy little suggestion for your next grow...if you wanna increase your yield using cfl's, and are having issues with light intensity, you can shrink the space that the lights are shining in. To use the space in your pics with a little more efficiency, you can block-off the rest of the space with something that will not allow light through. Therefore , basically saturating a much smaller space, using the same amount of light. That's what I had to do with my last cfl grow. I had 16 of those same bulbs lighting 4 plants. I thought there was too much light being lost, so, I made a huge reflector out of white aluminum trim coil to ensure that very little light got around it. They responded by filling out much better than they were previously.
With one week veg time, I got 6 oz's dry off of 4 plants in two months. I now know waaay more than I did then, my setup is far better, so this time with the same PPP plants, I expect at LEAST 3oz's dry off of each one----hoping for four. Still with only one week veg.----We'll see.
damn all that and only one week veg, thats fantastic!
anyone have a clue as to when my plant should be ready to harvest? i was planning on harvesting on the 24th of oct just in time for halloween but i wont if i can get more out of it :P
i hear youre suppose to harvest when the all the hairs turn 70 to 80% brown/red...

I would never judge by the hair color. Why? My understanding is in each strain, the hair color is slightly different at it's proper harvest time. The recommended way to judge precise harvest time for cannabis is to read the trichome color. I learned that from some of the many experts that post here. What ya need to buy is a small hand held "microscope" at radio shack. It only costs around thirteen dollars or so. Don't try to harvest without it. Proper harvest time means alot.
Further, if ya want to really impress your self, you can actually control the type of high that your weed gives you, by how you time your harvest. If you harvest when there are only a few trichomes that are clear, you end up with a high that stays mainly in your head--cerebral. If you wait till most are cloudy, you get a good mix of body and head high. Since your dealing with a strongly sativa plant, you may not achieve a mostly body buzz, just by the nature of sativas. But if you had more indica influence in that strain, you could wait until almost all the trichomes were amber in color, and you'd have a couch-lock type high.---------Read up on it my friend. Tons of info here on all aspects of cannabis. Good Luck!
