Hi everyone, this is my first post, but i have been reading these forums for a good 6 months now. I have 2 outdoor plants that have been thriving, and i have no problems in that regard. But, when i checked on the today, I saw little webs on about 10% of my flowers (I'm about 1 week from harvest i think). In any case, i looked closer and had a little orange caterpillar drop out, and hang off of my bud like a damn spider! the bud has a little bit of rot going on on the inside, but nothing i can't cut out with shears. So, what are these things? anyone else had this problem? Is it detrimental to my yield? Thanks for any answers in advance. :rasta:

they generally bury themselves in the buds while they feed

your best to hand pick them out , any pesticides will render them dead INSIDE the buds

can you post a pic of the catapillar

Yeah, I found a small orange one in one of the buds among the webbing he had made. Found a second green one rolled up in 2 fan leaves that he had made for himself. In total, I would say that 5 out of the 35+ budsites had some webbing in them, so i cut them early to prevent them from running rampant. Plus, I'm dry :rasta:

So i went ahead and bought a magnifying glass to check the webs and the trichs. I started checking the bud i had pulled so far (maybe an eighth) and started to see some more webs (I cut all the webs i could see when i cut the bud). So i start to cut the buds off the stem, and sure enough, another green little caterpillar is eating away. I'd have no problem with sharing, but the webs and the dead portions of my bud tell me these guys have to go. So after all that, I've got a few questions. Are the little webs dangerous to smoke? Also, i saw what appeared to be caterpillar poo among the webs. Is this a problem? I went back and checked my plants thoroughly, and it doesn't look like they made it to any of the other buds. Thanks for the help guys, I'd hate to have come this far and lose to caterpillars!(on a side note, trichs are 50% clear/50% cloudy. Almost there!)

follow the poop, thats where the buggers are &
when you harvest & while the plant is still green torch the webs
