Nearing harvest again. Steam drying?

I have seen many people referring to removing a little bit of bud and steam drying it before they actually harvest to check how kick ass their homegrown is. How is this achieved?

Never heard of steam drying weed. Just tear off a small pinch of bud and it will dry in two days.
