Do you breed black or brown ones? Maybe it doesn't make a difference, but I used to breed brown ones for my hedgehog- until they started driving me crazy and I let them all go. If you've gotten as far as the eggs being laid, I'd guess your problem is that it's not warm enough for them to hatch. I used a small tupperware for them to lay eggs in, and after they were laid I put it closer to the heat lamp. Being a packrat, I've still got the site I took tips from saved in my favorites folder: http://www.anapsid.org/crickets.html Hopefully this helps

I thought it might be the heat.I will try again this weekend it hasnt often been below 25 degrees here in Sydney so i shouldnt even need a heat pad or light.

"well, when a male cricket and a female cricket love eachother...." Nah, only joking.
In my vast experience, this is the best way to breed crickets...
First of all, make sure neither of the crickets has any STD's, coz you dont wanna spread that shit, you know?
Secondly, make sure the male cricket doesnt take any drugs that would make him infertile - you dont want him to be shooting blanks.
The next step you have to take is to set the mood. If your living room light doesnt have a dimmer-switch, then buy one! Turn the lights down low, put on some mood-music, serves oysters for dinner, and provide enough alcohol with the meal to get them 'in the mood'. The rest, im afraid, will be up to Mother Nature. Make sure the house is empty, perhaps go out with the family for the evening, and let the crickets do their thang. It cant go wrong :)
holy unlyrical lyrics batman, im so stoned

I want a Hedgehog... was it blue? I want a red Echida too. And a flying squirrel. And a pink headgehog named cream.. and that's all I can think of. I should've quit watching sonic when I was 5..

FEED the crickets,
KEEP them happy,
handy insect hint number one:
"when you have caught an insect put it in a plastic jar with a lid, in the freezer.
this cools them down and they go to sleep.
a fly takes approx 30seconds, but can recover after up to 3minutes, in my freezer anyway.
then they are easier (and less ew) to feed to youre spider/lizard/hedgehog/children/friends
