Anyone tried any DE HQI MH bulbs out? In the marine aquarium industry they are preferred over standard MH because they put out a lot more light. In addition they put out enough UV to require UV blocking glass be used with the bulbs.
I figure these would be perfect for MJ grows.
Any experience?

Bongie boingie boingie surely someone else on this forum has at least heard of HQI lighting?
Here is a link to an example: 250w HQI (http://www.specialty-lights.com/al01000.html)
The Reef Optix III is a really high-end reflector/hood. I think it would be awesome for MJ.
It seems that horticultural lighting is way behind marine lighting. I wonder why, as lighting a reef is a much more niche market than general horticulture.

Here (http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12084) is a comparison of a 400w HQI lamp to some that a lot of people here may be familiar with. It's the first 400w HQI I've seen.
