I haven't been online in a while, a lot of stuff has been going on that has had me stressed out. Let me catch everyone up to speed.

So at work shit has hit the fan. We got a new store manager a month ago. Since she has been there some shady shit has went down. She has filed the cash drawer wrong when it was over an when it was short. It was over once $600 and to get our numbers she took that money and paid on people's accounts. Unfortunately I knew about this which in turn put me in jeopardy.

Our district manager got word about the situation and point blank asked me if I knew anything shady going on. He knew I knew so I had no choice, I had to say something. Which I had been wanting to say something because it was eating at my conscience. Come to find out there were other things that were going on I didn't know about. Like false rental agreements being made and inventory being messed with. Among many many other things.

Everything went down yesterday and she was told not to come in. She had no idea what was going on. I'm off work today and was informed that she came in this morning and was fired. I feel bad that she got fired, but I feel like I had no choice but to say something. If I didn't, I would have lost my job and possibly been considered an accomplice for covering for her. I feel terrible but I also know I made the right choice. I couldn't loose my job for someone else.

She deserved it. It's her own fault, and her problem. Dont feel guilty - you did nothing wrong, only right!

And your right, why should you loose your job because she's an idiot?- you shouldnt!

You did the right thing, she got caught, she paid the price, after all, why the hell should you put your job/freedom at risk for someone else?

You never need to feel obligated to cover the ass of a shady, sketchy character. It's not like she's your sister. You handled it well, and it's natural to feel a LITTLE guilty, no mater how irrational, but you did the right thing.

You did right, girl! Don't take other people's shit if it means jeopardizing your job... Not like you went and tattled on her.

even an amoral scumbag like me knows that you don't shit where you live. not only did your manager break that cardinal rule and do it so stupidly that she got caught, she implicated you and endangered your position. coverin' yer ass ain't no sin.

I don't know, I sorta feel the more the common man can get away with screwing over companies, corporations and the like, GOOD; do it! I'm not much for capitalism, anyway.

But, screwing over small businesses...that's just not cool, man. I may not like capitalism but you shouldn't fuck over those that are trying to play by the rules!

Ya did the right thing,

Just got a call. She got reinstated as the Store Manager. OMG I hope she doesn't make it difficult to work there. This is going to be interesting. I don't understand how this happened. Have to find out tomorrow at work.

Don't let her give you ANY shit.

Now she is a whistleblower..haha..that sucks..

I wonder why they use that word...shouldnt it just apply to the people in the front cars of a train?

so after all them shady dealings they reinstated her? doesn't make any sence to me, sounds like your bosses are complete idiots or there is some sort of scam going on that they are all involved in.

If she had done stomething like allowed you guys to bring in cell phones when you wern't allowed (this is just a hypothetical example) and you got her fired for that, then yes that'd be wrong of you (in my book).

However she was clearly violating the law, and doing things that were morally and ethically wrong for her position. You did the right thing and can't let yourself get upset over it. You feel bad about it so it's already evident you are a good person, you did the right (good) thing by stopping someone from doing something blatantly wrong.
