alright guys here are some pics of the closet i have chosen to expirement with. give me your thoughts and oppions what i need and what not. I was planning on useing a HID light but i heard you need a ventalation system which i do not have so will i need to use floresent? i will have a fan and a ionic breeze for smell and to move the air around. I plan on covering all the walls with maylar. what do you guys think? any things i should change while the place is underconstruction?

You could use the HID just buy another fan for that extra bit of air movement (i like to have a small fan dedicated to blowing directly on the bulb and reflector) it helps cool it down nicely , plus constant air bouncing off the reflector keeps the tops of plants cool, and supplied with replenished air.

u think 2 fans would cool the room enough because i dont plan on ever really leaving the door open other then the fact to go in there and do what needs to be done

Might be able to use one fan.Put a vent screen low in the door for cool air in and put a vent screen at the top of the stairs to allow the hot air out.

what size light 250 400 600
exactly how big is that area and are you keeping 1 room or mutiple sections (veg and flower)
if you had neighbors above you i would use a carbon filter setup, better be safe than sorry, dont get caught because of the smell
your fan filter setup can also cool your light with a cooltube
and all DIY:thumbsup:

Smell kind of depends on the strain.Big Bud and Northern Lights don't stink much.

That'll be a good choice for indoors.I would still get some sort of ventilation going. You're going to need fresh air in that room.

Assuming you are not having a separate grow and bud chamber,

for fluoros: you'll need at least one fan sucking in air from under your door, and one blowing it out the top. You'll also want an oscillating fan to move air around inside.

for HID: you will need a fan to move air around inside, plus a dedicated ventilation system just for your light (unless maybe you are using a 150 watter or something), preferably a cool tube or enclosed hood, plus sucking in low and pushing out high (heat rises).

If you use a cool tube or enclosed hood, you could have a 600 watt HID, or maybe even 1000. With HID you will need to either do HVAC calculations, or just do what seems right and make a few changes along the way, like I did. Always over estimate what you think you'll need when it comes to ventilation.

Whatever you choose, odor will be an issue. You'll probably want a carbon scrubber.

damn i think ventilation will be the hardest part, how would i have a fan sucking air in from under the door i dont see how that is possilbe, the only idea i have for ventilation would be to go the the right of the door as far as i can go to the corner of the room so the bottom of the stairs and take out a small square hole and put like a vent there.

I was assuming the door does not rub on the floor and there would be a space there that you could suck air through. If not, a hole in the wall works. I have 3 of them in my grow. And if you use HID, ventilation is by far the hardest part of getting set up right, especially if you want CO2. If you use fluoros, not so bad.
