I was reading one of my old High Times magz.I stumbled across a line in which he said I had to veg for almost 2months plus before I can start flowering! I thought you could triger 12/12 when ever you feel like it. Is this true 4 to 5 months to complee my grow! He was basically saying that if you started 12/12 early than 2 months it wouldn't matter because you wouldn't see Bud for until after 8 weeks or so! Please tell me this is not true.:(

Most growers veg until the plant is 12-15 inches tall...which was about 30 days for me.

Then 8-10 weeks flowering for harvest. It really depends on your light system, strains, etc. and if you know what you are doing.

A good grow guide will take you thru the steps...just like the instructions on a cake mix....

I read High Times every month and he constantly contradicts himself.

Yeah. He's not particularly consistent.
Veg until you see alternating nodes. This is strain-dependent. It can be a month or a little more.

I always vegetate two months, before going to 12/12 ... I think it greatly enhances yield, and I don't get in a hurry ... I wrapped 22 weeks into a single Willie Nelson, that was a real ordeal (never again, lol) ... then, I don't smoke it, until after slow drying and a month curing ... patience is the best thing you can do for your plant ... (and, Jorge doesn't impress me, either ... nor does much else from High Times) ... :smokin:

whats with bashing high times. Thats what fueled my want to grow in my younger days. And Jorge i imagine he is smoking the best stock so give the man a break. you know how it is trying to write when you are high off of some good home grown????????? Lol. he may have meant that wait until at least two months to clone. sounds more idea. you can flower usually after thirty days but waiting increases end yield. Especially if scrogging or low stress training.(which this last grow has proven to be my favorite method) Give Jorge a break. take the good with the bad info and use it at your discretion comparing to the knowledge you already have.

...you know how it is trying to write when you are high off of some good home grown?.....

If you can't write coherently high, then write when you aren't high. Simple as that.

take the good with the bad info and use it at your discretion comparing to the knowledge you already have.

And since he professes to be the guy you should listen to if you are a total beginner, you don't HAVE that much discretion yet to use! A total noob simply does not have the tools to sort out truth from the ramblings of a stoned writer.

Stinky comes through again . There are plenty of us who write good advice when we aren't high. I am not high right now. I wasnt high last night when I wrote about male/female flowers. And I wasn't high when I wrote that incredibly long summary of what determines sex in C. sativa (although most of you probably thought I was on the last one )... As for when I *was* high... I won't get into that :smokin:.

Stinky's point is a great one though, and makes me think of something I wrote awhile ago that, to a noob, would have probably confused more than helped - even though a well versed grower could probably extract the correct info from what I was trying to say. Even the best advice can be the hardest to follow, unless it is given in simple enough terms to understand by its target audience...

Everything I write is stoned.
Jorge is on a learning curve like all of us.
No one is above learning/teaching something new. Even Jorge.
