So many people get pissed because they think certain anti-Iraq people don't support our troops. Let me say for myself that I have extreme respect for American troops, mostly the ones that fought for our freedom in 1776(?), not the ones fighting for another countries freedom. I guess my point could be summed up in this guys post:
I support the troops that have the personal integrity to say "Bush's war is bullshit".The ones that just blindly go around killing people because thats what there commander in chief said are not using mind to rationalize these things through. You don't have to kill hundreds of thousands of civilians to get rid of a few thousands of insurgents.

Not me. I believe the insane Bush regime is just imperializing to the max. Get what you can while you can because someday the American sheeple will wake up. They'll probably wake up to a different world, one where individual freedoms are a thing of the past, where 95% of the rest of the world hates our guts and would kill you on sight if you dared go to their country for a vacation. This evil Bush regime has fucked us in so many ways it is hard to put it into words. Do I blame it all on Bush, not really, he's just the figurehead, but him and his buddies have surely fucked this and a few other countries to tears.

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey - don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride... And we... kill those people."-Bill Hicks
Life is a ride my Flyers fan friend, never forget that.

i'll make it plain in simple, lol. life is a ride. rides have 'thrills and chills' which are apart of their fun, correct? well some people pretend are apart of these 'thrills and chills'. They life to scare straight thinking people with their twisted views, such as Stephen Colbert. Mr. Colbert pretends to be republican while at the same time skewers his views with their obsurdity, such is the humor of Huru Shott.
Or if that isn't simple enough, absurdity=humor.

What would happen if all US soldiers just layed down there weapons and said I'm not killing any innocent civilians anymore?
Markass
09-24-2007, 10:43 PM
they would probably be court marshaled or something...then they would do a draft I'm sure
Sure, I support the troops. Do I support the war? Absolutely not. This war is ridiculous, and has nothing to do with the freedom of the Iraqi people, and nor does it have anything to do with terrorism or our freedom. Some people seem to think that it does have to do with fighting for our freedom, however, when did Saddam ever try to oppress us?
If ever soldier laid their weapons down and said they weren't going to do any more fighting, they could not court marshal every single soldier. Whoever started it would be, though, I'm sure.

I have two good friends who went to fight in Iraq because A) they had enlisted and believed they were doing their duty and B) felt there was still some shred of possibility that S.Hussein had posed threat to the world.
Both have come back, with at least a dozen of their friends returning feeling the same way, realizing they/we have been CONNED. The war is a scam to protect the money of very few by those very few. And using OUR money and the lives of our soldiers to do it. They are now completely against the war, and the Bush administration. And they fought, killed, saw many friends and civilians die, and a few have been injured - some with no hope of physical rehabilitation. Most have been psychologically damaged beyond immediate repair and now the VA hospitals can't even afford the proper meds to keep them emotionally safe (guess what they recommend on the sly for the depression...)
When even one of the armchair patriots here goes and enlists and risks something besides their rep on these or any other boards - I'll take them seriously.
If you've been over there and FOUGHT, I respect your opinions and views. But I still won't support this military action, and I won't be cowed with the 'support our troops' guilt bullshit. The only way to really support them is to advocate they come home immediately and stop dying for rich men's stock investments.

I shouldn't meddle into this too much but, are you saying US troops kill innocent civilians for.. fun? Or maybe, because they can? Don't blame the soldier, blame the politician.

Since when were soldiers allowed to question commanding officers or pick and choose which orders they choose to follow and I'm not talking about a blatant order to burn a village or to kill civilians?

Killing for a government is still killing. The armed services are having an increasingly hard time filling their slots with qualified personel, if this war continues or escalates into Iran (A succinct possibility) a draft is imminent. BTW, I served also and I am very anti-war, especially this one.

I am against the US warmongers !
The troops are cattle who do as they are told or get kicked out and precisely because of that they accept thier orders or quit.
If I was still in the army I would've told Blair and Bush to go fuck themselves because as far as I am concerned this war is different in that we are there for political purposes not to protect ourselves or our countries. WMD LMAO Saddam a threat to us ?? WTF
It's all about money and the companies that profit from conflict.

If the repubs were to stay in power I bet they wouldn't institute the draft. I bet they would just out source it. More Blackwater mercenaries. Its why we need to elect some sort of congress that would actually act on these issues rather than just release public comments to look good. I can not name one representitive or senator with any amount of ethics. There has got to be a new party come forward to give Americans a chance at moving forward.
