So my parents were talking to me about joining the Navy. Because I want to be a nurse and all but school just isn't for me, I can't get into the classes like English math and science I just want to focus on being a Nurse! So the Navy offers that, all you do is train specifically to be a nurse, you don't need to take English math or science and you get you license to be a nurse. That sounds awesome right?
Yeah well I smoke bud every day, multiple times each day. And I'm not sure if that means no Navy... you know? Do they drug test you every week? I mean I'm really into it but at the same time smoking the herb is a big part of my life :smokin:

Umm yeah you're gonna have to get clean first if you really wanna join. Failing a military drug test is not a good thing to have on your record. Plus, I dont think they'll let you in until you can pass. Are you sure wanting to be a nurse is worth joining the services? You do know at this time if you join you're almost guaranteed to be going overseas?

They do test at random in the military..your toke sessions will be few and far between..but who cares..get the hell out of your town and explore the world and learn a profession..plus, your joining the Navy..I dont know how many Navy personel have died in the war..but I am sure it is not to many..I would imagine mostly corpsmen..good luck and dont join the Army or the Marine Corps..

Oh yeah, remember this..are you listening? when you go in, never admit to having used any kinds of drugs..they will question you a few times just to see..with baiting questions...if you admit to even one joint, you wil have to get a waiver..it wont stop you from going in, but it will be in your record.

My dad was in the navy and he said that at first they test you but then afterwards they don't usually do it unless you give them a reason to think your on drugs.

But I think joining the navy or any other armed services is a great idea. It will teach you to be a strong person inside and out. I thought about it but then I realised they wouldn't accept me b/c of my past with cancer and my bipolar and schizophrania, even though i'm fine now.

I think I'm 4F because of my hearing, I have a slight hearing impairment which means I probably wouldn't be able to hear orders on the field, which would get to be a problem quickly I imagine.

yeah i'm really considering it. I'm a senior in high school now. if i goto college its just going to be the local community college for the first 2 years... nothing too exciting just staying in my town. But everyone I know is here.. but traveling the world is definitely something i want to do, but I wan't to be able to smoke the herb as I go. it would really make me reconsider going if i had to give it up...

my parents told me they wouldn't let me join the marines or army because if I were a nurse in the Navy I would never really be close to anything. And If i were, I would be closely guarded so... I think it sounds great and everything but I have no idea what to expect or anything

Listen to this. My friend told me when she joined the Air Force everything I needed to know, because I'll be joining the Air Force as well.

Never admit to doing any sort of illegal drug. This isn't a "honesty is the best policy" situation. Just make sure you can follow it up with a clean drug test result.

unless you're willing to quit doing drugs, don't disrespect yourself or the Military by joining with the intention of still doing drugs. The values of the Navy are Honor, Courage and Commitment, i was in the Navy, and i still believe very strongly in them.

the military is a good choice, and the Navy is your best bet. they pay for everything, and you can get some of the best schooling out there. plus you get to travel the world. get your head on straight and think long and hard about whats more important to you, serving your country and getting a chance to travel the world and get an education on the taxpayers dime, or keep smoking weed.

Did you completely quit smoking weed when you were in the Navy? My friend joined the army about a year ago and he came back telling me about how they get crazy hash in the middle east for really cheap and shit.

I'm going to have to agree with my mate on that one. Its funny I'm in Tampa and a good friend of mine just joined the navy. Smoking is cool but taking advantage of life should be your main priority. You'll give it up for three years then boom your back home blazing a spliff. Good luck with whatever you do mate and for gods sake keep us posted:rastasmoke:

Way to go! I am totally for that. I have served over 20 years in the Canadian Forces, some in the army, and mostly in the air force. I have been smoking for most of that time. As long as you don't give them a reason to test you, they don't like to waste money on witch hunt.

No one truly knows except you in the situation. I think it varies from person to person but from what I've read from a few letters its just tedious and nerve wrecking. IDK his words not mine. I think if you want to be a nurse and those are the means best suited for you then go right ahead. Who know, in three years you could find the discipline for school and get a doctorate......the sky's the limit and the only constant in any of your dreams or desires is you:thumbsup:

You can go to a trade school to become a nurse, you don't have to go to the forces.

Also, something to keep into consideration is, you should wait until Bush is out of office before you THINK of going.... best wishes.
