Forum Search Improvement Idea

It would be good if perhaps you could search a phrase by using """"" <--those things, so if I wanted to search "Gold Coast" (the area in australia that I live) it would find posts with that string of words next to eachother, not use bring up ever post containing the word "gold" or the word "coast".

It would also be good if you could search for users in your part of the earth too, maybe have the option on listing your location and whether or not you want your account to be searchable by locality.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Yes people read these. You know I have only done about 2 or 3 searches where I have used the quotes and I thought it was odd it did it as blank or blank and not together. Now it makes sense. That's something Sundance would have to look at and he does read these so we'll see if changing the way the search works is an option.

That would be something that the vbulletin software developer would have to change, rather than the site admin.

I agree that the built in search engine is a joke. I am not sure it is old enough to hang out around here.

I read the above link, Don Psycho, but how about if Cannabis.com just added the code for the Google search engine into the site? It would be at the bottom of each page with a box to check either a. search www or b. search cannabis.com This would be much easier than typing http://cann...every time a person wanted to perform a search. Any of us who have blogs know how easy this is to implement. I mean, stoners should not have to type a web address every time they want to perform a search. The deck is stacked against us as it is.:pimp:

There are always changes and improvements being made.......never say never. I'm sure this is a feature being looked at.:thumbsup:
