This might be confusing but i was wondering if
anyone has heard of this, and know what its called? i dont know what its called but my psychology teacher was talking about this. He said he use to go to this place that had a coffin container looking thing filled with water with something in it to make you float like a cork. and while he floated in there it was as if he was weightless, so his brain was tricked into thinking he was sleeping but he was really still concious and so he was conscious during his dreams... so basically he was on a lsd trip but with no drugs.

"Apparently" its just a realistic as being awake but you can control what you wanna do stuff you cant normally do in real life eg fly and randomly make stuff appear basically whatever the hell you can think of, I would fuck briana banks in mine :).

i've only done it once... and it lasted three days believe it or not... while i was locked up in juvi.... the first few days actually...

it was all about a girl and sexing her up lmao.... i skipped 3 days worth of the food just to sleep all day and stay in that place.... after the last time i woke up and went to sleep and she wasn't there, i started goign back to normal... =/

i was on suicide watch tho, and had SHIT to do... so sleeping was about all there was to do...

honestly i'd of starved myself to death if the dream would have lasted long enough.

i spent an entire day in a dream once and woke up only to find it had only lasted the night... i still remember distinct parts of what i did that day in the dream, i did a full shift at my work and conversed with people, came home, hung out with some freinds, went to target and bought a cd, etc... i remember it all to the point i went to bed for the night in the dream... i went to bed on a tuesday night and woke up and thought it was thursday because i thought i had just spent my wednesday in real life, it was all so very realistic and detailed, very disorienting upon awakening

72 hours of pure sleep! damn slip you must of had some serious sleep deprivation to be able to sleep for that long

everyone has several dreams every night you just dont remember them when you wake up you just have to train yourself to remember them which isnt really that hard at all.

not really, aside from having withdrawls.... just picture solitary confinement in prison movies...

that's basicly suicide watch... you have no room mates, you're locked up in a cell with nothing but a padded matress, a toilet/sink combo and yourself.

not much else to do but sleep

also from what i remember REM sleep is the enemy of lucid dreaming..... which made it all the easier... kinda hard to fall into heavy sleep when you're not tired and you got lights in your eyes 24/7

no with practice you become better and better... but like i said, REM (deep) sleep is the enemy of it... if you take pills you're basicly exempt from lucid dreaming... also if you haven't slept in a good while...

if you're a light sleeper you're a good candidate for learning it.

The tanks are called floatation tanks, isolation tanks, or sensory deprivation tanks. I heard Joe Rogan talking about them he said being inside of one is alot like being high. I've never tried it although I plan to someday.

Just one detail here... the REM sleep is not the deep one.

In REM, the brain is active and the body inactive, and this is when most dreaming occurs. (...)

In NREM sleep, the body is active and the brain inactive, and there is relatively little dreaming. Non-REM encompasses four stages; stages 1 and 2 are considered 'light sleep', and 3 and 4 'deep sleep'.

from Sleep - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep).

Anyway... im in fact a light sleeper. I LOVE to sleep, so i sleep more than my body needs... and, its when i usually have this lucid dreams. So, more a good reason for sleeping...

That was my first lucid dream, I was like...15. I was with this chick and we were in the middle of NOWHERE in a jungle, like Predator 1, and we're running to this old Spanish church connected to a futuristic looking dome, but everything was completely run down.

We get inside, its all flooded, and now outside is a marshy swamp. One of the preds jumps in and pins me down by my throat and thats when it INSTANTLY hit me that it was a dream, and I could control everything I could do.

So I fought as hard as I could and shook away ran into this room and picked up a big pipe and waited, it came and a came from out behind him and beat him in the skull with it three times. So, I had "killed" that one. After that I just wanted to open my eyes up and wake up, but at the same time I was protecting this hot chick and beating up predators, so it was badass.

We go to get the other one, the girl now is an expert with a bow and we corner him and she hits him with a few arrows and I go in for the kill and he grabs my neck, and makes me watch as he takes my pipe and smashes the girl in the head so hard I think she dies instantaneously.

The last thing I saw before I decided to wake up was both his hands around my neck, and his green, battered, bloody mask right in my face.

IT WAS NUTS!

I just watched that Joe Rogan video, part of it, and so far I've already got one bullshit line. dude says that EVERY night your brain produces heavy doses of DMT. That...is a complete lie. Your brain DOES produce DMT in your brain, but only when you're dreaming. Its believed that DMT is what causes our dreams, and the brain only produces MINUTE, MINISCULE, SMALL amounts of it.

It is VERY easy to overdose on DMT. Be careful with that stuff.
