Anyone remember the shot-gun slaying in Rettendon?

They've made a film about it -

Rise of The Footsoldier follows the inexorable rise of Carlton Leach from one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becomming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late 80's and early 90's.
It charts 3 decades of his life following him around football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer., his involvement in the early rave scene and subsequently to becomming one of the most feared criminals in the country.
The story concludes with three members of his firm being brutally murdered in the infamous "Essex Boys" shot-gun slaying at Rettendon. [1 and a half minutes away from me - down 1 road. I drive past the site they were killed on my way to work. Very big news when it happened - i can still remember it!]
Adam Saint has one several awards, one of which being "Best Indepenant Movie" 2005, and the 2006 "Screen Nations Awards"

Adam Saint [Heskall Brothers] appears with fellow actors Billy Murray [Mikey Steele], Frank Harper [Jack Wholmes], Craig Fairbrass [Pat Tate], Terry Stone [Tony Tucker], and Roland Manookin [Craig Rolfe], in this gritty version of true events surrounding the Essex Boys Murders.

It's out at Cinemas now. Seems quite interesting. The piccy is of him holding a sawn off so it appealed to me right away, not to mention it's about the two areas i live, London and Essex. Like i said, this happened 1 and a half minutes from where im sitting now. I've even had a picknick at the site they were shot. Nice grassy area really ha ha, nice place to stop and eat.

Yes, but it was 'loosely based' on the real story. This one's supposed to be more reality based.

I know what you mean. My old man knew the Krays well, and Lenny McLean. East London is a brutal place - i was brought up with REAL gangstas - not little kids - GENTLEMEN. Men in suits, men who didnt swear all the time, men who didnt kill for the fun of it. You can still be a murdering gangsta and have morals, and the men i was brought up with did.

Kids these days dont have a fucking clue. They pretend to be hardnuts, carry guns and shoot people for no reason. It makes me sick.

Im with you there dude. All the way!!
No morality and lack of respect where its due in todays U.K.
Personally i blame most of todays probs on the kids who dont have a hard father and even a hard mother to bring them up.And then theres the cane in school that was abolished after i left!!..thats funny and confusing to me.
Things are gonna get worse,..this is only the beginning! :(

I know, your completely right. It's disgusting. They have no respect for human life and they're too ready to go out and shoot someone dead for the fun of it. They think they own this place, and someone has to show them they dont.

The cane should definatly be brought back - although most of them need a baseball bat to the head.

At least in our day the so called criminals looked out for people.

The krays for example - if they saw someone hit a woman, they'd make sure he had no hands to hit with again.

They were true gentlemen.

On the right side of em, your a good friend, and on the wrong side, your dead. That's how it should be today.

It's probably why im so violent, but i make sure i never start anything. What i do is make sure i finish it permantly.

These kids need a good beating - they need to be so scared they're incapable of doing the shit they are now.

People say violence isnt the answer - but talking is doing sweet fuck all, and as you said, this is only the beggining.

Kids who jack someone now just get an ASBO slapped on them, some kids even so young they can't have any charges brought against them, no matter how harsh the crime.
I do seriously blame bad parents, it's up to them to plant morals in their children, and the legal system also is to blame.
Usually after a week of a movie being out in the U.K (or even eariler) you can find a download for it. Maybe because it's a British movie, most hardcore pirates seem to be from the U.S.

Awesome, we should have a blaze some time!

As for the xmas lights; possibly...

I don't really go up town at night, mainly because of the mouthy little oiks that frequent there. Shoot them all!

I agree, use the money to keep a shelter open for the homeless for another week or something! The lights aren't even impressive... At least its a colourful way to waste public money!

Indeed. God, thinking about it i aint been down moulsham street for years. I love the army surplus store - it's an alladins cave of goodies.

Is it full of chavs these days then? I must admit, it doesnt surprise me.

We've hardly got any lights around my area anymore [GOOD! haha!]

They used to just have all the coloured lightbulbs draped everywhere but they'd get pulled down and smashed so i think they gave up.

All we've got now is a "merry christmas" sign lit up on the bank.

Take it easy mate.

Haha :D

Can't beat the army surplus! My old band brought some cold war style gas masks from there for a photo shoot. There was so many things I wanted though. I'm a would-be action man probably. Haha.

Yeah the high street is one big chav pit now. They're all mouth really. But I find them irritating...

Speaking of Xmas decs - my flatmate brought a PINK xmas tree this evening. I was disgusted. :wtf:

I made her promise to keep it in her room.... Haha.
