I know this should be in the movies section, but this is a film about something that happened in my neck of the woods. I can remember the real thing well, and now they've made a movie about it.

Rise of The Footsoldier follows the inexorable rise of Carlton Leach from one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becomming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late 80's and early 90's.
It charts 3 decades of his life following him around football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer., his involvement in the early rave scene and subsequently to becomming one of the most feared criminals in the country.
The story concludes with three members of his firm being brutally murdered in the infamous "Essex Boys" shot-gun slaying at Rettendon. [1 and a half minutes away from me - down 1 road. I drive past the site they were killed on my way to work. Very big news when it happened - i can still remember it!]
Adam Saint has one several awards, one of which being "Best Indepenant Movie" 2005, and the 2006 "Screen Nations Awards"

Adam Saint [Heskall Brothers] appears with fellow actors Billy Murray [Mikey Steele], Frank Harper [Jack Wholmes], Craig Fairbrass [Pat Tate], Terry Stone [Tony Tucker], and Roland Manookin [Craig Rolfe], in this gritty version of true events surrounding the Essex Boys Murders.

It's out at Cinemas now. Seems quite interesting. The piccy is of him holding a sawn off so it appealed to me right away, not to mention it's about the two areas i live, London and Essex. Like i said, this happened 1 and a half minutes from where im sitting now. I've even had a picknick at the site they were shot. Nice grassy area really ha ha, nice place to stop and eat.

I forgot to add, it [the real thing] happened in 1995 over a cannabis deal. That's why i bothered making a thread - and the fact it so near me.

Nah, it was Carlton Leach's pals, one got done in the chect, and the other two in the head with a shotgun near Retendon Turnpike [A132]

The film is all based on how it all went down, looks very detailed. Happened in 95.

They got doublecrossed in a weed deal, and got hit in a landrover that was parked up.

It looks like a VERY good film.

i remember now that photo of the land rover was the picture i had in mind when i first read this thread, but wasn't sure if that had something to do with Noye or i was getting confused, doesn't take much for me to get confused , i've got a typical stoner memory, what was we talking about again lol.

Hahahaha - When you cant find the remote control for the TV for over two hours and then realise it was in your hand all the time, you know it's only downhill from there! I do it all the time mate! haha!

I'm serious - put more than two thoughts into my head and you can hear me shorting out haha!

:rastasmoke:

I thought the pic would make it easier to remember - i think that's the pic they used for all the papers - The actual car they were killed in.

It's still a really big thing by me - the kids still talk about it, all my mates remember it. My mate Collin knew Pat well, he stills visits his grave. He knew Carlton as well - enough to say hello and get a wave and a smile but that was it.

I'm just really looking forward to seeing how this film turns out - it's meant to be completely based on the true story.
