if i sliced the stem

i was thinking about ways of getting 2 tops
so if i got a razor blade and sliced it straight down the middle of the stem
like 2cm down would it still grow
and would it grow into 2 tops?

I think the damage to the bud would be too severe and the bud would die. I'd just top it (then try to root the cut top for my next grow:thumbsup:) and let the two top lateral shoots become the top buds. The top bud of a plant puts out a hormone, auxin(?- It's morning and I'm not quite awake yet) that keeps the other side shoots from "wanting" to be top bud. When you top, no more auxin and there is a "free-for-all" to be top bud. Your two top lateral branches usually grow like your normal cola bud- big and fat! So just top and you'll get two colas. - Granny:hippy:

Yeah top it of FIM, or you can tie it down (LST) and the side branches will grow up lip a multi top plant, I guess it depends on the strain as to whats the best way to go about it. With white rhino at least I''ve found that Tying it down has given better results so far compared to topping it. (Still very early.)
