need some advise everyone

My plants have been budding since July so I'm sure they will be finished by halloween. I think I have 2 sativas and 3 indicas. Anyway, a friend of mine told me that he heard that you should let them go as long as possible,which could be late Nov. and probably into Dec., considering I live in Ga. Would this be a good idea. I want the biggest and best bud possible.

You should harvest them when the trichomes are startign to turn amber. The % amber you would like to see is determined by the type of high you are aiming for. There's a trichome chart that shows this specifically somewhere around here.
FYI, allowing a plant to go too far overripe is often a recipe for herms and as a reuslt, seeds.

you can get a pocket mag at radio shack that is about 10x (i think) for around 10 bucks, nothing major that you will always use.... good investment, i have one already and i'm not even close to the flower stage.

Do I look at the buds themselves or the bud leaves?

I'm wanting to have some knock-out smoke. Highest buzz possible.What color should the trichs be for the maximum potency?
