I'm playing the game on HARD mode right from the get go, not sure how far into the game I am but I do know that every encounter I've had with a hostile Big Daddy of any type I've got my ass handed to me countless times. I figure other may be venturing through as I am and thought that if any of us have come up with good strategies to try out on them, we could compare notes. Now from other forums apparently these guys aren't nearly as bad on normal mode, but are insanely difficult on Hard mode. I've recently got a few new toys (grenade launcher) and such that I want to experiment with on them.

Rosies aren't quite as bad as the others, mainly because they just shoot and don't charge/rush you. I'm trying to max out my examinations of them to get all the bonuses with killing them, I tried freezing them with my powers but it doesn't last long at all. Not even beserkers from Gears of War compare to these things...I'd leave well enough alone if I wasn't so determined to get to those Little Sisters

I finally killed a couple today without dying. I hacked a turret and a camera in a room I been in and loaded my shotgun with shock shells I went out in the villa I was in and "got his attention" and he wasted no time in following me. I ran and jumped off the ledge in the room and hid in the corner for a moment. He came in and the camera sounded the alarm sending drones after him the turret pelted his ass for awhile and I kept jumping out and pumping him full of shock shells. Came really close a couple times to eating it, but I dropped him, then later on I used a similar strategy to drop another one.

I tried to go after one straight up with my grenade launcher and chemical launcher and using the cover of some trees in the room and it almost worked had him down to about two more hits before he got my ass, I think it was a proximity mine that did me in as I didn't see him actually fire a bullet when I died.

Well being that those are merely asking people if they tried the game or are they hyped for the game, I didn't think an actual question/discussion about the game/gameplay is appropriate for those topics.

And hell can't have too many topics about the best game in the past several months. Until Halo 3 comes out in a couple weeks this is THE game of choice.

fair enough.

you couldve still posted it in one of the other though. like the way the gta thread is. i hope when its released, people will post in that thread. and not make lots of new ones.
