Anyone play or interested in playing FFXI? I'm about to start playing again(start over) and I'll probably be on the Garuda server.

Great community. Hopefully I'll get the expansions tomorrow and update tomorrow night when I get off work so I can start playing. It really is a great game, and it actually has a real storyline worth following. Only 20$ if any of you mmo lovers want to check it out.

Nice dude. I really didn't think I'd find anyone that blazes and plays FFXI. Is Valefor a pretty good server? How's the american population?

pretty much the same as every other server, but i prefer jps... never once have i been in a noob jp pt... only noob american pties... i'm also not very chatty anyways, so the language barrier is a plus although all those w's after i do something that isn't the norm gets me paraniod... i feel like they're talking about me... they found it fucking hilarious the other night that i hadn't had G1 done and was stuck at lvl 50 while we were still xp-ing


52 rdm isn't nothing tho.... my old account (which i sold) was 60 rdm, 50 whm, 29 blm, 25 nin, 20 smn, rank 7 with max fame in all cities, all smns minus fenrir and diablos, 70 woodworking, 29 alchemy, 20 blacksmithinging, 10 goldsmithing, 10 fishing, and no other craft sitting at 0

Yea. I tried playing a few times but I could never get into it. I started over like twice and never even got to 30. But this time I actually plan to put some time into it. I just need a good community to join.

I would of started over but it seemed as if alot of people were leaving because i couldnt level anything pass 60. I hated that it would take me atleast a weak to find a party to level pass 60! I had a level 60 mnk 56 Rng 46 War 32 thf and i was a Galka!

Crafting: 50 woodworking,33 bonecraft, 43 fishing, 22 cloth

I kinda miss the game but there's no way in hell im starting over from scratch again its just too much to do. I'd have to find a good server with alot of ppl so leveling can become easier.

I went to WOW for a bit but thats just a babies game after playing FFXI. Any high level FFXI player could max a class in under 3 weeks top guaranteed you dont even get a penalty for dying. WOW is just a noob game thats why so many noobs play it!

that was your problem righ there.... go whm, rdm, nin, or pld.... you'll have to turn down party invites becuase you're already in a pt... DD is in no short damand... healers and tanks are.

i have plenty of lv 75 friends, more than one of which is mnk... what you expereienced is normal... think about it... at any given time you've got a ratio of liek 10:1 on DD (which includes mnk) to tanks AND healers combined....

so.... you have a name with one of the latter half of the alphabet (since names are listed alphabeticly) you'll really only get asked when every other DD currently seeking has been asked/joined a pt.

like i said... don't wanna wait forever, go healer/tank... otherwise, expect a long wait and alot of seeking... find you an nm to camp or an item to farm while LFP

I had a large amount of Lv75 friends as well and thats what got me most of my parties, hell if it wasnt for the PL's i probably would've stopped getting parties at like 50. I understand what your saying though and im not saying your wrong but if there were still a massive amount of people playing like when i first started, i'd still be playing to this day. I think its by far the best MMO but its going down now that alot of people are going over to WOW. It used to have alot of noobs start playing so when the Vets end up leaving the game,there would be a couple of noobs to make up for the lost of a vet meaning more parties but now vets leave and noobs leave as well because its to hard for them to party and you have people in parties calling everyone noobs instead of helping them out making them frustrated and they'll eventually quit as well. It always annoyed me to see a mediocre player call someone a noob when there barely doing there job. I love this game but i'll wait for the sequel before hopping back into the world of Vanadiel!

My game came in today. I installed it and registered, now the updating begins... Hopefully I'll be able to play by late tonight or tomorrow. I guess I'll be starting on the Garuda server.. I'd really love to play with you all but they have helped me a lot and been very friendly to me. Anyone else play FFXI or interested in it?

I heard you can raise chocobos. What's that like in the game?

takes a long time lol.... like a month before you can actually ride the chocobo you raised.... and how you treat it and what you do with it effects it's stats (speed, endurance, luck on fidning items while digging, etc) you can also race them...

ffxi just added something new today too...

I'm going to agree with you good sir, Pokemon Red version on Gameboy kept me busy for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of my childhood. 30 minutes left on my update! I'm excited now :)

Awesome dude, let me know what server you pick. I'm not quite sure what to think about Garuda yet, haven't really met anyone. It could be that most people don't speak english this early in the morning on eastern time, or are just busy. Who knows. I bet all servers will be like that. I'm a lvl 8 monk right now.

FF7 Yes. FFX... eh. Auron was the shit, but most of the other characters weren't too great. The graphics were good tho. 8 and 9 blew 10 out of the water imo.

< 75 BST, RDM on Quetzalcoatl. Im a co owner to the all BST shell "theflock" but have not really played all that much in awhile. More so to just pop in and say hello. After getting BST to 75 the rest is all just... boring.

I thought I'd update my thread.

I've been playing on the Garuda server and at the moment I'm lvl 67 sam, 37 war, 15 thf, and 18 mnk. Rank 5 and my sam kicks so much ass. I'll be 75 in no time.

Anyone else been playing FFXI?

i'm still playing... rdm is at 61 and then me and a friend started duoing bst... he has one week on and one week off.. we started about a month ago (so we've had about 2 weeks playtime into it) at 43 now...

Cool. I've yet to really play any jobs except sam because I want to get a 75 before I start branching off.
