Ok, so i have tested this now in two completely different enviroments... one was two infected clones that were put, one in soil the other hydro, in a completely controlled enviroment.
and a indoor soil flower room that was PLAGUED (seriously, like bible type shit)
in the first setup i added these two infected plants to a little 6 plant system, and the one in soil. i simply cleaned the plants, prior. and put a HOTSHOT's brand nopeststrip, right in the plants.
in the second setup... i was lookin at a garden that had about 100 plants, almost ALL infected with mites... my first step was to, get the rooms temp, and airflow improved. second was to control the humidity in the room. third was the physical grooming of the plants, trimming all bad foiliage, removing webs, ect. fourth i cleaned the entire growroom, not disenfected, just removed all plant debris, dirt, water, rearranged, ect. LAST i hung four NPS in the room, one infront of an a/c unit, one on a lamp cord, and two right on the lower branches of the most infected budding plants.
in the first one, i have never seen a mite... period
second one it took about a 4-5 days to completely kill them all... each day better and better, it has been about a week with no visible traces of mites
keeping your grow climate/area maintained is the most important part. when everything is right, only then can you start to fix all your problems
