Clones
Hi evryone. I have problems making clones ouT of 5 trys only 1 clone rooted ..
This is what i did :
1: Cut the off a clone / put it straight in a cup of watter
2: Cut the Clone in an angle / under watter
3: Planted the Clone in soil

The Picz are my new try of making clones. I put Water in a Beer bottle and Coverd it uP so no Lite can go truh the bottle.

Can i just leave the Clones for 3 weeks in the Bottle and let the Clones root in iT?

Im guessing you just got lucky by getting one clone.

Everything Ive read says that you shouldnt do that in water.

You should get some rockwool pellets or peat pellets and cloning gel. Cut, clone gel and insert in pellets and put in tray with cover, mist lightly with low light levels and when you see roots.........put clone and pellet in soil.

are u shure? because i read that its easier leaving the clones in watter untill the clones get roots then using peat pellets or rockwoll (because the rockwoll or Peat pellets can dry out etc.)

The best way is to cut at a clean 45 degree angle with a brand new razor blade then apply some cloning gel then plant it in rockwool or some other medium. Check Jorge Cevantes Ultimate Grow DVD for a crash course in growing/cloning.

i believe you are thinking of using bubble, aero, or misting style cloner, and generally you keep the cut clone right above the water.

Not the way you're doing it.

... or, if you are just looking for someone to agree with you, Hell yeah - they'll root like that.

Look, there's not much sense asking for opinions and then ignoring all of them until someone comes along who agrees with you. There have been several threads on cloning just in the last couple of weeks. Do a site search and read up on cloning techniques. There is a way to root clones in water, but most people don't use it because there are more reliable methods.

Anyway, cloning isn't voodoo magic. It's actually quite simple. So do some research and some learning and then if you have some questions about how you can adapt the process to your particular situation, ask.

BTW - the $5 cloning powder from Lowe's works just as well as the $20 stuff from the hydro store.

I have six clones all growing using natural honey as a substitute for cloning gel.

Method in 3 easy steps

Cut clone
Dip cut in honey
Plant clone straight away in compost such as John Innes number 3.

I was extremely sceptical when I heard this for the first time but I cloned 6 and they all grew.

The answer to your question is as follows:

Yes - you can do the cloning that way, and you will "maybe" get roots to develop and you can grow from that. I would also add that as your personal experience shows that you could potentially have a large failure rate.

Now, let me add this, there are several people on here who have been doing this for a very long time, and the best success rate that they have had (keeping in mind that 100's of successful clones by people here compared to a single person posting on that method) is using exactly what they said. My personal experience is to "listen" to what they are saying, they are not saying that for the sake of uping thier post counts. If you are unsure of that person then look for the threads that they have posted on and see what advice they have given. Again, let me state that every question that i have put on here has been answered by someone who has had great success and they are passing their knowledge on, and i want to thank every single one of them, they have saved me from starting over again. The amount of investment that the solutions provided here are really not that expensive, you can find most of the stuff at walmart, agway, or your local garden store, and for the most part your talking about something that is between 10 - 20 dollars.

Hope that helps

No doubt on daT, iTz not like I havnT tryed that method. Out of 5 clones only 1 rooted, datz why iM willing to try out a different method that might work better for me.

by now i have read i few theads about water-cloning (google) and what i have read people say it workz great but it takes longer then using hormones and soil..
