can we all just agree to disagree and spare the arguments? we all share one common intrest here.. i am tired of arguing over the subject and i'm sure i'm not the only one. my only problem is that when someone attacks ps3, i feel the need to respond and i cannot just let it go.

we're all supposed to be adults here, so lets act that way, shall we?

and no i don't mean you have kiss my ass or vice versa and only have positive things to say, but lets use common sense here in what's going to get each other riled up and angry.

i don't want to silence opinions, i just want a truce.. once and for all so we can as adults, live in peace (cuz i honestly feel this is the un-offically designated flame pit as it stands now)

so if you're willing to just let it all go, and start anew as a single unified gaming fan culture, rather then fan to a specific system, post here and state you desire a truce as well

hello slip, i like and have most consoles at presant i prefer the 360 BUT the ps3 will come into its own just like the ps2,in the first year the ps2 did'nt have a lot of games but then it took the lead easy,and i still play the nintendo64

don't assume that everyone automaticly knows everything that will spark an argument, so if it does happen, i agree to aproach it in a mature manner, mostly by stating my feelings on the comment.... i guess i can only hope the same for everyone else.

anyways, i really do want a truce once and for all... after alot of thinking on the subject i realized someone has to be the bigger man and give first, so this is me giving.

from experiance the ps3 is a piece of shit as is the xbox 360 the wii is the best out of all next gen consoles just because its original and fun the other two are boring with no imagination. but i still prefer the good ole ps2.

those would be the exact kinda comments i'm trying to address/tone down... you are entitled to your opinion, but at the same time, those are the type of comments that spark this entire next gen fued..

which is the exact target of this post...

this thread isn't meant to be a debate on what is best, nor express opinons on what is best. it is simply a thread to declare a truce on the whole console war (even going back as far as atari for all i care) and end it here once and for all.

while i respect and understand your opinion, i do want this thread to remain nothing more than a decleration of peace for those of us involved in the console war, all i ask is that here, we act as adults and as a general gaming community, rather then seperated by our prefrences...

in short, you can hate/despise/dislike a system all you want, but please take it to other places, this sub-forum really could use a dose of tranquility... and the only way to that is for all sides to declare a truce.

I would just like to say that I have been playing video games since intelivision first came out!
PS3, 360 & Wii are all part of my video game aresonal.
Wii has shit graffics, coupled with original gameplay.
360 has awesome graffics, but has a high return rate.
PS3 has awesome graffics, but has no game selection.
Overall, Id have to say that PS3 will pass the competition in about a year or so. 360 is junk overall, & Wii is for kids with its low difficulty, but its still fun to play...!
Dont get me wrong, I like all three, & so do my kids, but in my house, my boys and I agree on the PS3!

I don't have a problem with the arguments. Seems Slipknot is a little to passionate about his PS3. If someone bashes the Xbox 360, I don't get all up in arms about it.

yeah i agree with slip im tired of this bullshit. everytime there is a discussion about the 360 or the ps3 , people just want to argue about which system is better and which system is shit. i just want to talk about videogames not argue about them. if you like your system good, but dont completly shit on some one who has the other system.

Both systems have their vices and virtues, both have different prices. There's no need getting heated up over it as long as you enjoy playing the system you bought. If you don't like it, get rid of it.

Well to be fair, the Wii offers a completely different gaming experience and a completely different take on what games are about and what makes them fun. Many people do find the Wii to be the best console of this generation because it appeals to them more so than the approach of Sony, MS or PC gaming.

This appeal is shown with the fact that Wii last I heard was just about to and probably has surpassed 360 in sales being the number 1 console of this gen.

Personally my tastes more align with MS, in that I prefer lengthy games with good storylines and atmosphere, while Nintendo thinks small simple, pick up and play games are more fun.

You may not like Wii's approach to gaming at all, but sadly we seem to be the minority as Wii is selling better than it's competition.

I plan to get a Wii eventually as well, as there is some games that do ocassionally appeal to me and there is the ocassional surprise game that you don't expect on a Nintendo machine (Eternal Darkness for instance)

I don't think you are comprehending what I'm saying. OTHERS BELIEVE it's a better console, this is shown in sales. People wouldn't buy the console if they thought it was crap or thought one of the others was better. Sales don't prove superiority, they prove customer interest and perception about the consoles and right now Wii is leading. Just like DS is leading in handheld sales.

Seriously your own opinion that <insert console> doesn't make it a fact. Laughing at someone for believing Wii is the best this generation doesn't suddenly make it a false claim. The gaming community here seems more PS3/360 oriented and more reluctant or desire to talk about Nintendo systems. Perhaps it's the "kiddie" image Nintendo systems get perhaps it's other reasons but if you say go to Gamefaqs (an exponentially larger gaming community) that place is largely dominated by Nintendo fans.

i have yet to play the ps3 in a home setting although i have played demos on it at walmarts and best buys...i own a xbox 360 which i thoroughly enjoy...they both have their high points and low points and as far as the controller ps3 kills xbox imo, i feel that the controllers are just too large...but the reason why i feel that the xbox destroys both ps3 and the wii in sales in the simple fact of how important the internet is these days and thats xbox live is the best online gaming you can find right now...and as far as what was said about the wii earlier im assuming you dont play madden or fifa, cuz those kind of games are really crappy on the wii and its nearly impossible to put a fluid game together....I would hope that one day i could afford to get a ps3 to add with my xbox 360...but it just seems too expensive at the moment for my budget which was another reason why i went with the 360...i got the xbox pro for 349.99 whereas the ps3 is still 500+ i believe
