Hi everyone,

I'm a Crohns sufferer and have found that MJ greatly relieves my symptoms. I live in a state where fascism still prevails, and as such, I'm lucky to get any 'mids', and often go through it far too quickly.

I began reading online, first starting with Dr. Tod H. Mikuriya's [R.I.P.] writings on phyto-inhallation, and decided to try a heat-gun setup. It quickly became apparent that this method wasn't for me. Being afraid to break the multiple glass pieces stood in the way of any enjoyment, as you have to hold a heat gun, and a water pipe and several loosely fitting pieces of glass. Then you sort of hope that everything doesn't collapse in a hundred shards of glass. Not exactly conducive to creating a new ritual!

The retailer has accepted the unit back (it wasn't used once I saw that it wasn't really for me) and suggested the SUPER VAPEZILLA , HIGH TIMES 2005/2006 winner.

I've heard a lot about this vape. A friend swears by it (purchased from Wickedroots), but unfortunately he's in another state and trying it is impractical.

My questions are somewhat newbish but if anyone can reply, I'd be forever greatful:

a) I never used a vaporizer however I like prefer more concentrated than diffuse vapor.. I understand the Volcano is also very highly appraised. Does anyone own a Super Vapezilla and can comment on her/his experiences with it?

b) Do I need really top notch medicine for vaping? (which is a problem)

c) Do you really save on the amt of medicine you use? One of these units is 500+ dollars, and.. well heck we all have other uses for that kind of money . :)

Specifically, if anyone out there owns one of these, and likes (or dislikes it), please be honest and reply to this message.

Many thanks in advance!

Actually I own Both!!
They are great, I prefer the Vapezilla because it has the digital read out. I also have a little motor I guess you would call it that plugs into the side of it that will force air through the unit. It is almost too much! The volcano is great too and I have been using that one as of late, (broke the glass whip for the other one). As far as what you use in them, quality of flower will always give you better results, that being said I would go out on a limb and suggest that no matter the quality you will get the most out of your med with a vaporizer. To be honest I have never vaped anything but high grade. Gotta love Cali!

I have heard that the vapezilla is the only vape that runs with or can even out-do the volcano.

Diffusion was one of your questions. the tube from the vape zilla can have a glass on glass male bong piece replaced with the mouth piece and slipped into the female part of a bong downstem. the glass on glass amkes sure that it all stays in place and airtight. no need to worry about breaking anything as the vapezilla sits flat on a desk and so does the bong. i believe the vapezilla is hands free, and of course a bong could be hands free too

If I were you, I'd check out the Herbalaire. (herbalAire - Smokeless Herbal Vaporizer (http://www.herbalaire.com))
It gives you the option to use a direct draw system or use the bag system. There is proof that the Herbalaire can take the used up or spent herbs from the Volcano and still get vapors from it. I own one and could not be any happier. I have tried the "whip style" vaporizers but they don't work anywhere near as good as the Herbalaire.

I disagree. And I've been using the herbaAire pretty much daily for going on two years. Although you can't beat bag delivery for ease of use and efficiency, it can't compete with most whip vapes when it comes to dense vapor hits that are still smooth. Of course not all your hits will be vapor rich, but those that are will be generally much smoother than any you can get from a bag, no matter how thick the bagged vapor is. It may be that the fresher vapor from a whip unit makes a difference too.

my hands-free GNS Vapor Brothers! I've had it for almost 2 years now and it still works well! It cost me less than $150 total (including S&H and a bundle of incense I wanted). If you don't have the $500 or so a volcano costs, a VB might be what you need.

Thanks for what I believe to be an honest review PurpleDays. Although I haven't used a Vapezilla, Super or otherwise, I've read lots of user reviews, and nothing in your post rings anything but true. And I have used the comparable Vaporfection Stealth II.

You don't say how long you owned it before the control panel failed, but the vapes comparable to and competitive with the Vapezilla (Evolutions and Vaporfection) would have only cost a shipping charge to repair for 3 years. With the Vapezilla, labor would be free, but the part wouldn't. If the repair had required a new digital controller, the cost to the owner would be at least $200.

Your review points out the risks of buying an expensive piece of electronics, where the goal is to produce heat. Electronic components produce heat on their own and the heat must be dissipated or the more heat sensitive components could overheat and fail. This is why computer processors have fans and/or heat sinks and network servers are kept in cooled off rooms.

Electronic controllers are better suited to vapes that fill bags. Incoming air flow is constant, and there's nobody pulling varying amounts of air at various times on the output end. For whip use, a simple analog vape with a good ceramic heater is likely to last a lot longer than a digital model, and be just as effective too. Personally, I'm willing to sacrifice solid state temp control and a display for long term reliability.

And anyone that thinks you need to pay $500+ for a vaporizer in order to extract the maximum goodness from cannabis or other herbs, is mistaken. Vaporization is a simple process that only requires the correct temp range. Certainly it's easier if the process is assisted by an electronic controller, but I can get those same "mind bending results" from my SSV at half the price and with a lot more control of how much vapor comes out of the unit, and when. I've found myself more than once sitting in my chair, totally spaced out, with my SSV wand in one hand and the mouthpiece in the other, with zero desire (or ability for that matter) to finish off the bowl contents. I've also left more than one bag of vapor sitting atop the herbalAire, hoping it would still be good when I was able to tackle another bag. :vap_smiley:
