ohio to live with my dad in 7 days. I am 19 years old. I broke two
of my vertebra in my lower back when i was 16 year old. I have
been going to a nerological specialist every month since the day
it happend. I have had every test done knowen to man including
a myelogram. I have nerver damage from L1 T12 vertebra that
goes down my right leg. I am currently prescribed methadone (for pain)
lyrica which is a nerve pill also prescribed to people with epilepsy,
and prednisone for the inflamation. there are some others but
you get the point. my question is.. what do I have to do to be
leagally prescribed marijuana? do I have to live there for so long?
have and actual california ID, have to live there so long? anything
will help, thank you for takeing to time for anybody that reads and
helps.

I'm quite sure it would be if "Californna" was actually a state.

You WILL qualify! Just bring a copy of your medical records, $200 (or less depending on the doctor) and your own sweet self! In about one hour you will be legal! You will be able to have 6 mature plants or 12 immature plants and 8 ounces of bud! As long as you have a verifiable ailment, it is SOOOO easy to get California legal! - Granny:hippy:

I agree with Granny. This is just my opinion...if you are on such a strong medication as methadone you must be in some major agony. Any medicinal marijuana doc that turned someone away in that much pain is NOT much of a doctor.
It can cost as little as $25 for the pre-qualifier and $75 for the Doc visit. I wish you the best.

I've known guys who faked some back pain and got a medical mariujuana card. I think that with a little acting anyone could qualify.

you are eligible for medical marijuana. why don't you try to google medical marijuana specialty clinics (medicann comes to mind, not to advertise).

Honeychild, if you are in as much pain as I think, I'd call the doctor ASAP!!! Mine has quite a backlog of patients. I just made an appointment a few days ago for as soon as he could get my hubby and me in for our "re-upping". My appointment is for October 16th! More than a month away! I don't know if it is as bad elsewhere, I live way out in the boonies. I have to travel 75 miles to see him, but he's the "only show in town". So it is possible that this is only in my case, but I'd still go to the NORML site, and pick a doctor and call about an appointment Monday morning! Use Mapquest to figure out which one is closest to where you will be living. Worst case scenario is that you get your rec a few days earlier than you would have if you waited. Best case- you have an appointment for the day after you arrive! (you'll need that day to talk and rest :)) - Granny:hippy:

I know most people probably just say prescribe because they don't know how else to word it, but just because I get hung up on little things like this....
You aren't prescribed medical marijuana, all the doctor is doing is using his free speech to recommend you use marijuana to treat a condition you have that is legal under Prop 215 for you to use medical marijuana, chronic pain is fine for medical marijuana too.
If you can get the recommendation from your primary doctor then that's great, but if not, try one of those doctors. I paid $160 after my primary doctor wouldn't sign off because he is an ignorant moron that doesn't do any research on Crohn's disease.
Good luck and get medicated!! :smokebong:

my symptoms come and go, for the longest time I've been feeling really healthy, almost as if nothing is wrong with me, but then I started having a flare up earlier this year and it's gotten worse.
For a while I was having really bad stomach cramps, to the point I had to stand up if I was sitting and just cringe while trying to not look like a weirdo in front of people lol. I was also having a hard time eating, I've lost probably at least 30 pounds or more since the beginning of this year, but I'm starting to get my hunger back. It's hard to tell because some days I will feel much better and I'll think I'm doing ok, then the next day I'm not so good.
I'm still trying to find the magic strain that helps me, I had some a while back that was like magic and eliminated all of my symptoms, but so far nothing I've tried has worked as well as that strain did. I'm not sure if it is because the flare up wasn't as severe back then, or what, but it does seem to be important to find a good strain to treat Crohn's, this is exactly why I went legal.

i feel for you man.. i have been dealing with it for the last 2 years, i started off weighing about 165 at 17yrs old, now im 19 and weigh 130. i havent shat solid in the last 2 years. and yes the stomach cramps are almost too much to deal with. they put me on some magace shit and some other kinds of steroids to help, but they dont. [edit] weed defintly gets me eating and settels my tummy. my mom had it the worst, she had 6 reconstruction surgurys, wore a colostomy bad for 5 years. she had a "J-pouch" put in about 5 years about and that was her last surgery, and she hasnt had a problem with it since. I never thought I would meet another person with crohns on here.. good luck with everything tho, hope you get better.

There may be a lot more Crohnies out there that are die hard cannabis users than you think, it was just earlier this year that I realized there was a large amount of Crohnies using cannabis to effectively treat this disease, in the past I even joked to my friends wondering if I could get legal bud with this condition, haha and after years of simply not knowing....I realize not only is it legal, but there are A LOT of Crohnies using cannabis.
You know Michelle Rainey (http://www.michellerainey.com/) right? Her site was the first I came across when I started doing Crohn's/cannabis research. There is even a co-op that has meetings for Crohnies in the valley area (I think, haven't gone yet). When my original doctor told me I should seek some sort of online Crohn's forum I laughed at the idea because I thought it sounded lame....but now it's pretty cool to see how others deal with the disease and what they think about the drugs used and what works for them.
A lot of Cannabis users claim they don't need nearly as many drugs, if any, when using cannabis. I was taking pentasa but stopped to see if I could stop it, but I think I'll get back on it, but Pentasa doesn't bother me at all, it's the other crap that really sucks and I want to avoid. I really don't want to wait around for the government to finally give a full green light to medical marijuana, I've read enough and tested personally to know it helps and that's all I care about.

I purposely spelled it wrong cause i was saying it per syllable(sp?) and it also reminds me of when Pete, from Remember the Titans(movie) who also plays doctor turk in Scrubs says, "California" all run out when hes talking to the white girls in the staircase, at school when talking about the new football Quarterback named "Sunshine"....... end rant boom!
