God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything by Christopher Hitchens.
I would recommend this book to both the believers and non-believers. If you are like myself and have a major problem with organized religions, you will more than likely enjoy this book. Hitchens makes many interesting points as well as informing the reader of things you likely didn't know. From what I have been able to judge so far, he has done a great deal of research and doesn't distort truth. I noticed one indirect historical inaccuracy in regards to the Civil War, but that is all.
If you are a stout follower, I extend a friendly challenge and urge you to read his book as well. If your faith is strong, you have nothing to fear. At the least, it will open your eyes to some the fallacies of man made religions.
I have read many passages from the bible, a few from the book of Mormon, and have yet to read a bit of the Koran. However, if I'm open to reading the enemies work, you can too. :D
All in all it is a great book.
One criticism I have is his abundant use of parenthesis in the first few chapters. I had to reread several sentences because I forgot what the hell he was talking about because of three lines of () in the middle of sentences.
If you aren't afraid of having your faith challenged, pick up a copy of this book.
