I don't have a set time period, but once they are totally blacked up and air doesn't pass though easily.
Although saying that, I do like them after they have been used a few times, but the first hit from a clean gauze always blasts me.

I change them when they get clogged. You can recycle them too. All you have to do is hold them at the edge with scissors and heat them to burn the crap and resin off as much as possible. Then when it has cooled, hold it flat on a table and scrape it all off with a knife. You should have a pretty much good as new screen at the end, and it only takes like 2 minutes... Handy for me, coz I always run out...

i keep em till they have a hole burnt in them and if they have a hole and i dont have anymore ill just re adjust it so the hole is on a side, not over the hole in the bowl.. (lol hole in the bowl)

if ur screen is clogged u can just rub it...

Ive had them when they were pulled out it was a patchwork of broken wire and resin.

One time, I had a stalagmite of resin going from the screen down to the bottom of the bowl.

But usually it gets cleaned when I go looking for resin, because they are always coated with it. I dont much care for new screen hit, its always so damn harsh, so I try to avoid it as much as possible.
