Has anyone heard of this artist? One of my female friends introduced me to him, downloaded, like, 6 of his songs. I must say that he is actually very talented. If you're not into easy going, soft music (think...Keane or James Blunt mixed with some Rachel Yamagata) then you won't get into him.
Anyway, he has this one song called Casimir Palaski Day that literally makes me weep every time he plays it. Its about this girl that he knew that gets bone cancer; when you listen to the song, think of that, and, more than likely, you're going to cry.
One of the things he does is, he has said that he will travel all 50 states and write an album dedicated to that state. I'm listening to the Illinois CD (since I'm from there). The songs are all about different things regarding that state. From the Illinois album, which is called Illinoise (I believe), he wrote this song called John Wayne Gacy Jr. Anyone ever heard of him? Well, he was an Illinois man that molested/raped 27 young boys, and then killed them, and then buried them underneath the floorboards in his house.
The song itself is beautiful, and the realization that this really happened makes the song almost like a musical eulogy to the ones he killed, and the families he hurt.
ANYWAY, good artist! Any of you interested in that whole genre, you should definitely check him out!
