i snorted cocaine all weekend. an 8 ball with my friend. 4 grams. very enjoyable experience. we also had an ounce of weed so we were inviting some people over we know and we smoked a bowl with them but they did not want to do coke. one of them refused to watch us snort. how silly is that. they were smoking pot but refusing to do "drugs", one of them smoked the bowl and we offerent him coke and he said, "no man, i dont do drugs," hahaha. cocaine is an amazingly mature drug. i act very responsible and alert. comparing it to weed i have this to say. em..., a girl i know did it for the first time (as did i) and she said it just felt like she was really high on marijuana. you dont care about things when you smoke marijuana. you also get paranoid in different ways. also deep focusing on negative things happens sometimes also. it is also sometimes uncomfortable to stay silent while high, totally different with cocaine. you can sit for hours on end with the strangest people and not feel uncomfortable. the government has once again messed you all up. it would be great if coke was a leisure drug. it took awhile for the first line to take effect but once it did, it came on smoothly. much much better than alcohol or any other drug i have tried and i have tried a good many. if only i could do it once awhile on a weekend with my friend, and i will try but if i notice i am becoming addicted and my normal pot-smoking life is mixed up i will stop. i know alot of information about addiction, i have taken university level classes on it and can control it. by the way i am on coke for the last time before school right now. you feel very alert on cocaine, your eyes seem to always be open. when i smoked a few bowls after a line and went to sherris store i was really trippin but that may have been becasue of lack of sleep. the first few lines lasted a long time but then it started to sag after that. the drip that is in your throat makes it kind of numb. rubbing the powder on your teeth to make it numb is also pretty cool. i felt very euphoric and the first "coming down" wasnt very bad, that might have been the pot or lack of sleep, i dont know. my friend and e... felt the coming down but i didnt, i just passed out. it wasnt a bad pass out, i didnt feel bad when i woke up. i felt in control when i was on coke, truly not caring about what happens. i have had the craving, i have felt it. pot will help me if i have it anymore, that works with other drugs. i know it does. your nose feels numb when you do it. its a body high. you dont really need to do anything when you do coke. anything will do. very energetic. confident. a really great drug.

i don't care how long you've studied addiction and where you studied it... NOBODY HAS CONTROL OVER COCAINE. that drug controls you, no matter who you are i dont care. it's a nasty drug and a nasty habit. i was a coke addict, i know there is nothing i can say to make you change your mind about it.. when you want to stop, hopefully you will be able to.

Yeah, like, when you blow your nose one day, and a bit of cartiledge falls out...
That happened to an old mate of mine....it also happened to Daniella Westbrook - such a shame...
I've done the odd line, here and there, and I can see how people can get hooked - I couldn't finance such a habit, even if I wanted to - which I don't.
It's nice for a special 'treat', but even then, it's a short-lived and expensive hit.
Beware the lure of the charlie...

You may not have been able to control it, others may not be able to control it but there are certainly people who can. Me and some friends used to smoke crack, I would occassionally join in and found the experience to be over rated. The urge to repeat the experience time and time again was by no means overwhelming.
Cocaine addiction may actually have something to do with genetics:

I've done more than my fair share with as many different people as anyone, and I can say with complete confidence she's right about that!! Coke(and my personal achillies heel, crack) is about as close to pure evil as you'll ever find on this good Earth. I implore everyone to keep their distance, as nothing good has ever come from a night (which always turned into a day or two...or three) of blow or rock... I'm just trying to save anyone who'll listen from the hell coke brings.
I guess I can't make anyone believe me, so if you choose not to, I do wish you the best of luck, because you'll need it :(

"damm.....sounding like an addict......shit" thats exactly what i said. That stuff used to to burn a hole in my pocket way faster than i could fill it up! used to goto all kinds of costs to get cash to buy more...i stated to go down hill without even relising. yes the coke was un-cut and good but my lifes a hell of alot better without it. Im not saying ppl that do coke suck, just that its not a drug for me no more :)
Peace

Marijuana is stupid you shouldn't smoke it, its addictive. Everybody on this board is addicted to marijuana, look at you all most even smoke it every day.[/sarcasm]
If you can afford to and have enough control to do coke only on the weekends then why not? It's cardiotoxic, but occassional use shouldn't be too bad for your heart.
Another example, I love ecstasy over most anything else in the world but I would only do it at the most frequent rate of once every two weeks, usually waiting months in between rolls. I have been able to hold pills for weeks without breaking down and taking them until planned. Why? Because I have a lot of respect for this substance, frequent use would only ruin the experience.
If somebody has respect for cocaine and can live their life doing it on weekends and not needing it any other time, I don't see a problem, and it certainly is possible.
"One possible measure of addictiveness is the degree to which use continues after initial experimentation. High continued use rates do not necessarily suggest addiction; if people who consume a good find they like it and therefore consume it frequently, the continued use rate is high even if there is no addiction. But addiction does not imply high continued use rate, and this has been used frequently as a measure of addiction."
"The fact that continued use rates for marijuana, which is not regarded as physically addictive, are similar to those for crack, which is regarded as highly addictive, also challenges the more extreme claims about addictiveness of drugs. Likewise, the continued use rates for other legal goods (e.g., chocolate, caffeine) are perhaps even higher."

thank you for making sense nullific....exactly my point. it may be hard for others to keep control over coke. but guess what, say you started snorting H, if you felt you were in control of it and shit, even if it had ruined my life, i wouldnt try to make you feel like shit for using it. people react differntly to different things.....
