seems like its all been covered but ill add. fireworks. drinking games ( some kind of spin round a stick then run forwards is always class) if you can get a dj thats always good, but sometimes tunes in the background are better to let you talk. i would say a shit load of beer in a huge tub full of beer. somekind of industrial strength spirit that you can shot for when it gets a bit later. if your yard is big enough a fire pit.

If you're having a party thats mainly going to revolve AROUND smoking cannabis, then a wide supply of drinks and food is obviously a good idea. Also some smoking games lined up, or something funny to do which will bring out the laughs.
If its just a party which cannabis will be at, then obviously some alcohol, some tunes, and some FIT CHICKS!

ask around, find out who know someone who spins, get some cash together and get a DJ. I got lots of fiends that are DJs for some of the biggest east coast promoters so our house parties always been bumpin. Really everything else is a given, kegs, snacks, etc, but a DJ makes a difference. One thing ya can do is get a large table (or a pice of plywood resting on a smaller table and make a beer pong table

I say skip the DJ and just hook up speakers (or your whole stereo system, which is what I do) to your computer, or to your ipod. Either way, speaker adaptors will likely cost less than a DJ.

A grill is probably necessary too, and def just tell people to bring stuff to eat and cook. If your spending time and money hosting it, people are usually more than willing to spend a few bucks on grub to share.

I guess I do more get togethers than "partys", but I hope it helps.

for a "party" party
you will need:

1 dank nuggets
2 a big bowl of jungle juice and lots of other alchoholic drinks
3 nice speakers
4 bottled water + energy drinks <--very important
5 if its a big party, have your basement set up as a dancefloor with loud music, strobes, blacklights ect. and very loud music. then have the upstairs for people to chill, and take a break.
6 have bedrooms (if people hook up) and bathrooms clean and open.


For a "get together party"
you will need:

7 beer/wine also some soda
