If there is a heaven do you feel you have been good enough to make it in?

If yes, please fill us in on yourself and the kind (pun intented) of person you are.

If no, please start a single file line so the nearest chatholic preist can bend you over thier knee to spank. (No offense chatholics just a joke)

Really if no, please fill us in on yourself and the things you might change if you could change them.

Good enough? By my own standards sure, by others probably not. I have no regrets.

I'm in the same boat. By my own standards I'd say yes but being judged by other people most likely not.

What standards do others judge people by?

If i could go back i would have done everything different.
Hmmm theres a few things in my life that would be sins so i guess i will either be staying here or going to hell.If there is such place as heaven then that is really where i hope i go.

This is a big reason why I don't concern myself with whether my actions are "heaven" appropriate, different people consider different things sinful. Not even the bible could be a definitive source for what will is and is not sin as extremists will say that things like masterbation and men with long hair are sinful, drugs and alcohol and sex are sinful etc.
I lie when it takes too much effort to tell the truth, unless the matter at hand is important, I do a lot of drugs, I masterbate frequently, I swear and by my standards all of this is perfectly acceptable. If you think about it, these things really don't harm anybody so why should I be thrown in hell for them?
Life isn't permanent.

I'm a little bit different then you Null. The way I'm different is I don't concern myself with how others view me. The way I see it is everyone is convicted of different things. For example my father is a pastor just as I am a pastor. My father is convicted of curseing (although he does it in spanish) while I am not convicted of curseing because I was raised in this cursing world. Since I was 12 I'ver cursed. Another example is my father is convicted of drinking and of course smoking pot while I do both. I believe in God. I believe God judges everyones hearts not by some set rule but by that persons actions and reasons they act that way. The Bible is very confusing when it comes to rules. In the old Testament God gave rules to the people of that time. Everyone knows them they're the ten commandments. But of course like time has changed with my growing up and my fathers growing up the times changed in the Bible and they had to adapt and follow different rules. The cool thing about the Chrsitian beleif now adays is we don't follow the rules of the old testament like the Ten commandments. In the New Testament it gives the story of Jesus and why he came. It says he came because no one could up hold the strick rules of the old testament. They are simply to hard to follow so God had to make a way for people to be holy in his eyes. View it this way:

I'm on trial for buying and selling weed. The judge says you have been caught doing bad things. I reply but your not looking at all those times I was good. Of course he would throw those good things out the window because I'm not being tried for being good I am being tried for the supposed bad. The judge sentences me to prison for life (or death depending on the judge). No matter how much good I did I still did wrong and have to pay for it when along comes a long haired person (rebel) that says he'll pay my fines and do my time. All I have to do is accept it. Of course I would and I'd be very gracious to the person that paid my fine and did my time.

Thats what the Bible says Jesus did for all humans. Jesus came down to earth and paid our fine so that we could be made clean and sin free in God's eyes.

Sorry to rant and rave of my beliefs. I didn't mean to. I'm a pastor and it tends to come out of me no matter what the topic of conversation is.

If I was to be judged by others convictions and beliefs of right and wrong I would for sure not make it in heaven. I'm just glad I have faith that Jesus was real and did what the Bible says he did which means he took my sins away all of them even the ones I will commit later in life and even the masterbating in the show I did this morning. Thank you Lord for the grace you freely give.

Again sorry to get off topic it just happens to me. I'll try better to not jump so much off topic.

Jugg-

By helping others you are fulfilling half of what the Bibles says we should be doing. Just thought you might like to know your half way to heaven. Or at least half way there in the Christian belief system.

Hmmm... like somebody else said - by my own standards i would go to heaven, and by other's standards i wouldnt, BUT, considering how fucked up this planet is, going to hell would probably be an improvement lol

Heaven and Hell are a state of mind.

Be at peace with yourself upon your death, you will go to whatever heaven pleases you. Die filled with shame and regret, and that will be your hell. I don't need anyone telling me where I'll go when I die.

getting to heaven has nothing to do with how nice you are. According to christianity (opinion of course) eeveryone is automatically going to hell because of adam and eve. So the only way o get to heaven is to REPENT! i havent yet

100% correct

According to christianity (opinion of course) eeveryone is automatically going to hell because of adam and eve.

According to Christianity everyone is going to hell because no one deserves heaven. Everyone has sinned aka: screwed up so no one is good enough to make it into a perfect place. Thats where Jesus and his sacrifice comes into play. He makes us clean aka: good enough in God's eyes to be aloud in heaven because he was good enough aka: sin free and able to be the perfect sacrifice.

So the only way o get to heaven is to REPENT! i havent yet

According to Christianity it's not repent its two simple things.

1) Believe

Believe Jesus was the person he said he was and did the things he did. Such as he was a person, he died on the cross for our sins, he arose from the dead three days later with rules such as 10 commandments concord because we couldn't up hold them.

2) Love

Love your neighbor. Not just physical neighbor but everyone that you come in contact with because at that time they are your neighbor.

God knows we screw up and can't love everyone we meet. He knows we aren't perfect and tend to screw up at times. God knows everything we have and will go through in life and knows the reason why we do certain things. Because God knows all things bad things about us he knew we needed something to make us clean aka: right in his eyes in order to let us in heaven. The way to make us right was to become human himself and go through life sin free and become the perfect sacrifice for the things he created.

We're not perfect and we will never be perfect but we can be perfect in his eyes if we accept the gift he has offered us.

wow  we see it same way :D
religion is a state of mind

if you feel like your headed to heaven, then i doubt it
cuase people rarely see thier own flaws

me,im flawed as any other human
but i have a right and wrong feeling about things,
i try my best to live up to my standards
which is,
heaven would be hell to me cuase i like a beer buzz,i like a good hour or two of sex for pleasure not baby making
ect ect long list im sure ya dont want to read
bottom line is
its all in your head
peace

That is such a true statement. I started to play poker not to long ago. At first I was fairly good. Won a few pots but after a while I started to lose lots and lots of money. I didn't realize my own flaws (for poker "TELLS") until someone pointed them out to me. Sometimes it takes a smack in the face (or losing lots of money) before the person (in this case me) can see his own flaws.

but i have a right and wrong feeling about things,

Where or Who do you think these feelings come from?

heaven would be hell to me cuase i like a beer buzz,

Then heaven is the perfect place for you. Heaven is perfect so the beer most likely is th ebest beer ever. The Bible doesn't say we can't have beer in fact the Bible says to give beer and wine to certain people. BIBLE QUOTE:

Proverbs 31:6-7

Give beer to those who are dying, wine to those who are sad let them drink and remember their misery no more.

So if the Bible says to give it to people I think it will be provided in heaven. Of course it might not be there might only be the sticky icky icky but what evr is there I know I won't complain.

i like a good hour or two of sex for pleasure not baby making

In my belief system which is Christianity God made everything including sex. So if God made sex he not only did it so we could have babies but he made it so it was fun and enjoyable. Theres nothing wrong with having sex. Of course I think it's best between married fokes but I'm not perfect and didn't wait until marriage so I can't really say it's only for married people.

its all in your head

How can one be certain about that. Look at all the unexplained accurances in the world. People dying on hospitle operating tables and coming back with visions of heaven etc. Just ask I believe his name was HeartSurgerySurviver. He can tell you what he saw when he died. Of course that's your beleif and I can't question your beleifs. I just say keep an open mind about things like that cause there are lots and lots of people that believe and have experianced something that is very hard to discribe to those that haven't experianced it. Of course it could just be all in our minds. Who knows.

Not Enough Herb-

Thanks for giving me some encouragement. I was coming very close to not writting anything any more. I thought no one was understanding what I had to say and no one was believing me about Christianity and how it really is. It sucks sometimes being a Christian because most people have there minds made up about us and our beliefs with out really knowing anything about us and our beliefs. I didn't go to a Christian school or anything I just read my Bible and learned from experiances. Listen to your conscience cause that always says whats right or wrong making me beleive it could be the Holy Spirit. Again just a Thank you for lifting my spirits.
