Ok, so here is my deal. I am currently waiting for the results of a pre-employment drug test for a new job that could really change my life. This opportunity came out of nowhere so I had no time (literally a week) to get clean of THC in my system. The only viable option I could think of was substitution. So I contacted a friend I know for a 100% fact that does not smoke weed. He does hang out around me and my friends though and we usually smoke like weed isnt going to be around tomorrow...So he is exposed to a lot of second hand smoke. I went to the testing facility (Labcorp) with the sub taped to the inside of my thigh and it worked like a charm..They suspected nothing and I was in and out of there in like 5 minutes no problems what so ever. After the test (I know this is retarded) I decided I would test it just for peice of mind. I purchased the test at walgreens and the result showed a very faint line. I am so terrified right now. I read the book included with the $20 test and it said any line, no matter how faint, is considered a negative. But I mean this was a really faint pink line in my opinion. Do I have a snowball's chance in hell of passing this test? I have known this kid most of my life and I KNOW he has not smoked since his first time years ago(he absolutely hated it). Do you think his exposure to 2nd hand smoke will cause me to fail? Anyone please help! I am a freaking nervous wreck right now:(

I think you are fine..if he has only been exposed to 2nd hand smoke, I would imagine the concentration of THC would be so small that it wont make a difference..didnt they test for temp?

Dude you are so screwed, give it up now and go collect unemployment and burn a big one.
No, I'm just kidding. It is true a line is a line and a good definition of this is that if it can be photocopied or a pic taken of it and it shows up, that's good. The THC line is rarely as dark as the control line even if you tested water.
It is nearly impossible for second hand smoke to cause a positive. It would take being in a very small space like a car with the windows up or a closet and lots and lots and lots of smoking (like many blunts) because exhaled smoke contains very little THC as it is absorbed almost instantly.
I wouldn't sweat it. You did the right thing.

Thanks for the ultra quick response guys, you have no idea how much it means... Yeah there was definently a line...my girlfriend looked and verified as well that what I saw was indeed a true definable line and that everything is going to be cool. But is the labtech or whoever looking at it is going to be like "Well Its really light, lets go ahead and send it to the other test." Im asuming their employees are told the same thing "Dont try to determine the results of the test based on how dark, light, or faint the line is. A line is a negative reguardless." I really don't know anything about these companies or there procedures. And from what Ive read Labcorp has no way of letting me get ahold of my results until THEY get in touch with me.

My adult sons, who live with the hubby and me, don't use cannabis. One of them is unemployed at the moment and was curious if he'd pass an employment drug test. The hubby and I are both medical users- we toke at least 4 times a day and often more. There is no way he could avoid 2nd hand smoke. He passed. - Granny:hippy:
