do you actually use these to be curteous and you mean it, or do you just use them becuase you feel obligated to and you don't want to be rude?
95% of the time i use them becuase i feel obligated/to not be rude... especially thank you with friends and family, i just assume my thanks are already known.

my parents raised me well. I say please and thank you all the time, and while i may forget a please on occasion, I never forget to say thank you.

I use them every day. It was how I was raised, too. Well-bred people remember their manners unfailingly. We also write thank-you notes.
Manners are what separate the sheep from the goats in society. Truly.

Mr. Muscle, may I slice a hunk of your muscle off and grill it on my BBQ? It looks beefy and shiney, good for grillin!
I am polite as my folks taught me well. Even when people aren't nice to me. I prefer to kill them with kindness.

I do it because I want to because I want to be polite. My actions towards others usually isn't dictated by whether or not they were nice to me first. I was taught well by my dad that I should always care myself a certain way whether or not people were watching or how they are acting. I fully believe in acts of random kindness whether holding the door for strangers, sometimes going out of my way to do so, to saying bless you after someone sneezes that I don't even know,to making sure someone hears me say excuse me if I bump into them to learning people's names that I will never see again. There's nothing more rude than saying "Hey you...."
I use them and mean them.
Unless someones pissed me off, and then im just being sarcastic.
Like when you get calls from those morons who cant speak English asking if you want double glazing - i ask them to take my number off all of their databases and say thankyou at the end, but i sure as hell dont mean it.

Manners to me are about making people around you as comfortable as possible.
So yea, I say it all the time and I mean it.
You feel the positive vibe when you are nice.. And if an asshole decides to ruin my good mood, I just laugh at them.

Even though you say it just because you fell obligated to, even though you are thankfull, doesnt that still mean that you say it and do mean it..??
My mom really never raised me to much on the please and thank you, but she always put great importance in saying your sorry. I never really understand, I mean once something is done and happened, saying "Im sorry" really doesnt make me forget what happened.

I picked the wrong choice, lol... I meant to click the first one.
My family was HUGE on the manners thing, and I'm glad they were. I cringe when I go into a place with a friend and they aren't courteous.
