So last night I was at the state fair and in one of the market areas is a stand known for having the hottest of hot sauces, from all over. Well in a corner of the shop they had this stuff you could sample called 4 million that claimed to be the hottest stuff you'll ever find. Not really thinking what the 4 million stood for and I asked the guy so uh.. how many scovilles... the guys like "4 Million of course"... so my freinds and I were feeling brave and decided we'd all sample a taste at the same time.

We had not more than enough to coat a toothpick thinly and It had me sweating and my eyes watering... and not only that it even knda gave me the shakes (im like 90% scandinavian im not physically built for stuff that hot... so we were all sitting there dying drinking slamming our beers to cool our throats thogh it didnt really help too much. We ended up making a mad dash to the milk stand.

Anyone ever try 4 Million sauce, or whats the hottest you've ever tried?

I couldn't get close to that. I have Texas and Louisiana blood. We're used to some spice in our foods. But something in the millions on the Scoville unit scale would kill me. The most I've tried is some habanero salsa once upon a time, and it was manageably hot. I don't know where it ranked as far as Scovilles were concerned, but it couldn't have been very high or I couldn't have taken it.

Yeah, I'm definately not usually into the insanely hot stuff, but with 2 other freinds willing to try it with me, and the alcohol clouding our judgement it seemed like a fun idea. I don't regret it, it wore off in about 15 minutes and the reactions of people watching us suffer through it were great lot's of "You guys are crazy" I'm kinda proud to say I had the guts to try it.

Habanero peppers are pretty hot. I got two of my cousins to try one each last weekend. It was hysterical.

man... one time I was cooking with haberno peppers and stupidly I somehow touched my cheekbone with my hand....... NO GOOD.. won't even bother telling ya what happened when I took a piss, I mean, I washed my hands before but it didn't matter..... It is because of this experience that I will never handle habernos myself, I'll eat em hell yeah, but not gonna touch em with my hands EVER AGAIN!!
