Hi there everyone and welcome to my first ever grow log!

Unfortunatly i cannot provide any pictures right this second but ill upload some for ya all tomorow :)

Well its a Cabinet/wardrobe grow indoors.

Strain: Nirvana - Big bud
Lights: Envirolite - 125watt daylight (blue spectrum) (6400k) (Veg)
Envirolite - 125watt Red specturm (Flowering)
Soil: Tomatoe grow bag soil and perlite 60/40
Nutes: MG water soluble
Pot Size: 4.5l (2 gallons)
Temps: 20-25 degrees centigrade

Well my closet isnt very big and i want this grow to be as simple as i can possibly make it.

I have lined my closet out with tin foil. Wasn't sure wether to use paint but tin foil was a cheaper solution.

The 4 seeds were germinated in paper towels and put in a dark cool place. They poped and i imediatly put them into the 2 gallon pots wioth the soil and a light watering.

Two popped through the soil the next day and two the day after :) which i think is pretty good :)

The lamp has gone on and is now on a 18/6 light/dark cycle its just as good as 24? any comments on that?

Also ive heard about the probs people have had with MG nutes? i know i should give a thorough flush a week before harvesting.

Anyways where was i?... o ye. The seedlings are now around 3 inches tall with the lamp around 3-4" away from the tops i would do 2" if i could but it tends to only be able to give 2 of the seedlings light because of the size of the pots.

They have developt their first true leaves and i can see some small second set of leaves emerging in the middle :):)

Thats about as far as ive got....

As its my first grow all your constructive comments will be thought of highly.

Any comments on the strain im using aswell? Big bud.... i dont see many people growing this strain on here?

tin foil is a poor reflective and creates hot spots flat white paint is the best for you or mylar for you light regime use 24 hours of light a day and three inches is a bit tall but what do i know send them pics

Hi there, fellow Bid Bud grower. I see you got pretty much the same setup as me. :thumbsup: Just dont do like I did and over feed the plants :( My second grow is fortunately coming better.


3 inches sounds pretty tall indeed. Mine are about 2inches tall and going on 5th pair of leaves. Hope you put some pics soon.

Hello Ryno.... Congratulations on you first Gro Log and may you have many more to come. Big Bud is a Good Strain with nice aroma. Relatively compromising too.

I see you are using 125W envirolites. They are ideal for vegging as I have used them in the past and own then still own them to this day... I would suggest using both if at all possibe when you switch to bloom. 125W imo is simply not enough to achieve the dense buds we all know and love.

If you can place you germinated seeds in plastic cups to become root bound you will make better use of your 4.5L pots. Other people might have a difference of opinion, that is fine, I'm not trying to impose methods just provide ideas.

As someone mentioned, tin foil is poor. White matt paint is much better. Mylar and White-Black sheeting is also recommended for your operation.

Everything else you mentioned sounds ok. Make sure you don't burn the tops of yor plants with the bulb being too close, but I think you'll be ok with Envirolites.

What are you using to move the air? Extraction? Intake? pH meter for you nute solution? Will love to follow this grow.. get those pics up asap!!

Day 7

Hi folks!!!

Well just a quick update :)

I figured that the seedlings were strecthed as the started wilting really bad so i topped the pots up to the brim and now only around 3/4 of an inch of stem is showing and they're standing straight and proud! :D

Last night i also noticed the leaves starting to curl...i thought this was under watering so i gave em a good watering last night and this morning they were fine seemed to reacted very well :)

May i jsut add my grow is going to be as simple as possible as my budget is now gone :( lol cost me enough with the reflector and lamps... next grow there will be major changes but for the first grow i think it should do at the mo.

I made a slight hic up in my first description of the pots as they are not 4.5L they are 10 litre pots lol 4.5L is a gallon and i just got confused generally haha.

At the moment nothin is moving the air :(
Im plannin on gettin a small fan inserted but for now the window is constantly open and they seem to be doing fine. The temps are constantly at 24c which is a good optimum temp....i think?

Also another neccessaty i have not got is ph measure ahhh i no im mad doing it with jus normal tap water but i cant afford a mearuing kit atm.

Nice looking setup you got there Ryno. If you can keep the temp around 24c you should be golden. With my ESL the temps are around 25 with fan on. If I turn it off temp goes over 30.
Where did yo get your Envirolite? It looks bit different than mine.

Ye the temp dont budge any higher than 24c and i dont even have fan goin in there just different climates i spose :)

I forgot to add that ass the weather is good at the mo i have the plants in direct sunlight during the day until bout 7ish and then put em back into the grow room. Any problems with that? Jus keeps the grow room steady and cuts the electricity bill :) Also ive moved them into a 24 hour light cycle.

The plant heads have straightened up now and the grow on elizabeth is taking of :)
Im still worried as the stems seem to keep growing and seems as if im going to have to put a stick next to em sooner or later to stop em wilting over again. o well.

Julie is really taking her time though worries me a bit she hasnt even really started to develop her second set of leaves yet whereas the others have already.

Anyways that it for now.

looking good ryno. for a cheep ph tester check out your local pet shop or aquarium center,was wondering what the blue material your covering the cabinet was and is it dense enough to keep it dark? good luck on your grow :thumbsup:

Update - Day 10 (from sprout)

Hi guys! well its now day ten and the seedlings are coming on nicely :)

I am slightly worried about julie thought as her second set of leaves are only just growing and are growing EXTREMLY slow :( hope shes alright, shes stilla healthy green so its ok i spose. should i give her any nutes to speed her up?

Queen Elizabeth is growing fast and strong now growing her first fan leaves and a third set of leaves on the way :)

I will do new update pics once a week but will keep the log going through out the weeks :)
Next pic update: 4 days time (14th)

WM the whole closet is covered by canvas that came with the cupboard in the first place and the front is cxovered in a dark blue blanket. I dont have any problem with light leakages from the back top sides and bottom but do get a slight blue glow at the front but nothing serious the curtains are always closed anyway and my mum and step dad are supporting me on the grow :)

Erm dont know what else to say really lol! Got some bud last night only a teenth but was nice smoke had a nice mellow heady high to it and tasted slightly cirtrusy/lemony got me high thats all that matters :D

Any questions on the grow i will try and answer to my best knowlege :) and all your suggestions are highly appreiciated.

Hey Ryno, looking pretty good there bud!

Be careful with the fish blood & bone - certainly DONT use it yet, give it at least another 3-4 weeks.. If you've got em in good soil they'll be fine for a month with no ferts. After then, sprinkle lightly as a top dressing, with no "clumps" of the stuff on top of the soil.

It stinks BTW, so if its a stealthy grow, forget it. Your room will smell of fish. LOL.:)

Hey guys just checking in :)

Ann, Elizabeth and Dianna are doin well. Julie is taking her time but is growing slowly :)

2 more days and ill take some more pics of em all.

When do i top and LST?

Trivium i haven't fed yet but was wondering whether to give julie any? but im goin to leave her to it now nd hope she takes off by herself :)

Well it is a slightly stealthy grow but ill just spray some oust around ma room if it stinks :) lol and if anyone asks what the smell is ill blame.....the dog? if i have one haha

Still have them on roughly 24 not always 24 but near enough. 12 of those hours or so are usualy in the sun and 12 in the grow room :)

Well ann, di and liz are now starting to develop their fist side shoots at the nodes. Julie is still tryin to catch up. I gave julie some milk last night asi heard its good so thought why not its only milk.

Dunno what else to say really lol

When do i start to LST? And can anyone give me a link to a thread about topping the plants too?

Update - Day 17

Well just got in from work and cheked on the babies!

Julie has a puple discolouration on her stems could be a reaction from the milk i gave her not sure tho.

Also some of the plants had droopy leaves so i assumed i am underwatering as im scared of overwatering lol so gave em all a good watering hopefully will do the trick.

Not much else to say about them really :) They're all stilla healthy green so i cant see any major problems there :D

Anyways hope you lot are all good! And all your comments to my problems will be taken seriously!

Congrats on your first grow, Ryno! It looks like a decent set up as far as size, lighting and such.
to try and answer a ? or two...

I wouldn't put milk in the soil. Ir might smell and attract bugs and stuff.

You can LST when the plants are large enough to bend a side branch 90º or so.

I would top mine at 4-6 weeks or when your plants are 6 node or so.

THe best advide I think is to read a lot of threads on the subjects you are interested in. Read a lot. Get a book even.
