View Full Version : Gross Question For Guys

Okay, so before anyone under the age of 18 reads on, I have to say that this is for MATURE audiences only. I don't mean that its overtly sexual or anything, its just that...ya know...this question requires a bit of maturity. Anyway...

So, I'm sitting here and I just got done taking a couple hits from my bubby (what I call my bubbler) and uhhh on the first hit, I coughed my lungs up, like usual. But, the second hit I did the same, but it was different. You see, right as I was coughing, I started getting this sharp, stinging pain in the area that is, most commonly, referred to as...the taint.

My friends and I were talking about this weeks ago, and none of us knew what the hell the cause of this was. I mean, it always happens after a nice coughing fit, and it hurts BAD. Almost like when you get kicked in the crackers, ya know what I mean?

I figured that it was probably a hernia-like happening going on in the groin, but I'm not sure. ANYONE know why this is, and does ANYONE else ever experience this?

Geez man, you talk about maturity being needed yet you have such a round-about way of bringing this up I can only picture you giggling like a schoolgirl in embarrasement. What the hell is "the taint" anyway?

This should be in the medical forum btw.

Giggling like a school girl? Like I said, requires maturity. First off, didn't realize there WAS a medical forum, second, I'm asking a perfectly legitimate question and if you honestly believe I'm doing this just for the sake of asking a stupid question, good for you; believe that all you want.

Regardless, I'd still like an answer.

Hernia. Get your ass to the doctor... literally.
And tell him hey! it hurts behind my balls when I smoke weed and cough too much!
Seriously. Doc can't do much if you don't say whassup.

Well I can't give you an answer only advice, Doctors. Go and see one, it doesn't matter if it's a tad embarrassing. I'd rather a Doctor poke around my balls than find out later down the line it's something quite serious.

You should have done this a bit more discreetly, do a bit of research on the web. It will give you a rough idea of what you could be dealing with. Take your research with a pinch of salt. So please do us a favor and get this thread out of here so other poor unfortunate souls don't have to think about your sweaty balls lol.

It could be as harmless as or muscle strain, or a hernia. I hope its not a hernia cause Ive heard they arent pleasant. Just say youve had a cold and had real bad coughing fits, and that area hurts. Its a good cover up if you dont wanna tell him your coughing from smoking pot.

Now, see, I COULD do that, Blitzed. I don't like the idea of telling anyone I don't have to that I smoke cannabis.

The last thing I'll say on the topic is....I don't have sweaty balls.

Now! If the mods want to move/delete, they can go right ahead. I've my answer and dignity still, somewhat, intact. If I could do it myself, I would, but I have no idea how.

Good DAY, sir!

Except you should tell your doctor if you smoke cannabis. Don't worry, there's this thing called doctor/patient privilege. They won't tell your parents* or the cops.
(maybe they will if you are under 18, but I doubt it)

Doctors aren't surprised or offended when people smoke cannabis. They expect it. It's the number one cash crop in America and 14 million people, which is likely an underestimate, use it.

Hernias in that region are very common for young men. It's worth getting it checked out. Doctors are accustomed to checking people for hernias, even in that area, and you don't want to further weaken the muscle that's got the herniation--or risk getting a strangulated hernia. Just go. Even with the admission that you smoke cannabis, it won't be anything that the doctor hasn't heard or seen 300 times before . . .

Thats what I was thinking. Why would you even want to lie to your doctor? Not telling them whats up, is like trying to solve a jig-saw puzzle with a missing piece, even if it's a small piece that doesn't really add anything, you don't get the whole picture.

I had a problem where I hurt there off and on for a lot of years. It took 5 or 6 doctors, and the last one shoving a finger up my ass to give me a diagnosis: hemorrhoids.

Whenever I do a lot of heavy lifting, my taint hurts, or if I carry something heavy around all day, like a backpack.

The best thing to do, is use preparation-H, very soft toilet paper. When you get hemorrhoids bulging out of your anus, watch your ass really well, lube up a fingertip with preparation-H, and shove them back in, and wash your hands.

I know that is nasty, but if you want frankness there you go. I am not saying you have hemorrhoids, but I got diagnosed with a hernia and a groin strain, but that is all it was. I got hemorrhoids when lifting up a very heavy bag of grease with my lower back, like an idiot. I felt the blood vessel pop. It was gross.

A very strenuous cough can cause the muscle in the pubic area to tighten and spasm causing a lot of pain, how ever since you have this serious sounding cough when you toke and the pain if it continues after the coughing is over, even if it's mild or dull needs to be checked by a doctor. If nothing else go to the health clinic and tell them you have no money or tight on funds. They have a sliding scale. The type of pain you described in that area is not normal and needs to be checked out!

i was gonna say inside hemorrhoids, as there not always on the outside. and my friend had the same thing happen. it shows the maturity level in here when someone asks a real ? and for some reason people keep saying something about telling the doc he smokes, why the fuck would he even have to bring that up over a cough?? makes no sense, anyways is there any blood when u go to the bathroom, even a lil could be a sign of the hemms. only thing that can really be done is laser or cold treatment, or something like that other than that it would be a muscle as sometimes when u cough real hard muscles that u don't normally use will flex and can cause pain as u don't use them.

ps and after reading what boo360 said i to remember feeling that pain when sick and had to puke so im guessing it's more related to muscle contracting to fast or something like that as i said u don't use those muscles and it's more a shock thing i would think

Hernias...not u would have more pain than that if that was the case

Most doctors have no problem with people smoking weed. 3 years ago when i was 16 i talked to my doctor about how i smoke daily. He just told me to invest in a bong or a vape and reccomended not smoking joints or blunts (papers).

It's definitely not a hernia. You would be screaming on the floor. It happens to me sometimes too but I havent died yet so its prolly not a big deal. oh well

birdgirl73
09-06-2007, 10:02 PM
^^Moksha, you can't say that for sure. Only a doctor can, which is why those of us with sense are encouraging him to go see one.

Inguinal hernias are very common in young men and present wtih precisely the symptoms he's having. And they don't make everyone scream on the floor by any means. But Gothen, if that is what it is and you end up with a bigger herniation and strangulate a small piece of bowel in the inguinal canal, you will be screaming, both from pain and when you end up having to pay a surgeon and a hospital bill.

It could have something to do with breaking a blood vessel from coughing so hard. I remember once in elementary school (and I note this is a long ass time ago), I attempted to lift a table with around 8 people on it. Well all I got was failure and a very, very SHARP pain... I don't need to say where because I'll giggle uncontrollably.. But I ended up finding out that I had busted a blood vessel from attempting to do something so hard. IMO.

umm well i asked alot of my friends about this and they have said when they have puked or coughed hard it's happened to them as well it's a sharp kindda sting almost like a needle kindda thing i'll say again it seems like a muscle contracting to quickly or something along those lines. i mean u could go to the doc but im sure he's gonna say nothing to worry about.

lol that would be a hell of alot of guys with hernias damn can it be that common?? i relate it to working out if anyone has worked a muscle out so much that it locks up on u. the longer u let it go the worse it gets it starts feeling like a muscle is ripping it's that sting that u feel.

Read about inguinal hernias. They're very common. One of the most frequent surgical repairs there is. My husband and son have both had them, which, to me, means they may run in families. When guys are young and their testicles descend, they follow a path called the inguinal canal. That pathway sometimes leaves little weak places in its wake where, with strain, little sections of bowel can poke through. That can cause pain with straining and, if the bowel gets strangulated, it can cause real problems.

Sure, it might just be pain from a pulled muscle or simple straining of some other kind. The point is he can't know until a doctor checks, and he doesn't want to risk having it be a hernia that gets strangulated or gangrenous, especially back there right behind his package, when it's so easy for a doctor to evaluate.

Right on, BG- good info you've given :D

But yes, see a doctor and TELL HIM/HER YOU SMOKE CANNABIS. What's the worst than can happen, your doctor saying you shouldn't do it? Your life is worth more the more honest you are!

Before I decided to make any brash decisions, I talked to my friends...casually...about it. We were all smoking, and I coughed and the pain happened again, so I said, "Hey, when you guys cough, do you ever feel this pain in your _____ sometimes??" And, surprisingly, they all said they had felt it at some point. In fact, they're situation is just like mine, it doesn't happen every time, its only every once in a while. So, maybe its not code red??

Quit coughin nub.

I've never had that problem before, so I would suggest letting a doctor know and see what he says. They would give better advice then us.

Well oddly enough i have this same prob and i have a hernia (but its been fixed). After i read this thread i decided to call my doc (i was also a little worried) he told me not to inhale so much smoke i told him this was not an option lol. Then he told me when you cough very hard it tightins your muscels very fast especially in that area, which in turn causes them to slightly tare (just like when you work out). He said the only time he would worry bout it would be if the pain did not go away or if i felt a lump under my skin or in my balls. The lump being your guts trying to come through your muscels aka a hernia. This guy knows his shit he has cut me open twice and i have never had a prob at all. He also said if i think its gonna hurt to stand up before i cough and it wont focus so much pressure it that area. If you got anymore ??s tell me and i will call him. Me and his son a regular smokin buds so he dosnt mind the phone calls. Oh yeah he also said to simply inhale then exhale dont try to hold it in especially after you start to cough. hope this info helps i know it helped me.

I have had that a handful of times over the past couple years, i dont really think its anything to worry about if it goes away after a few seconds, if it continues to hurt i guess see a doctor but im not a doctor anyway so dont take my word for it... i dont think that logically anything could be totally wrong unless it continued to hurt. i think its just a severe cough, try to avoid that if you can, take smaller hits cuz it hurts like fuck.

Maybe you should just at least call a free clinic or something, anonymously. Doctor-patient priv really works, and you might want to just make sure it's something that won't get worse.

i bet you felt really embarassed being brought in for having a panic attack. my mom had a panic attack when a cop pulled her over. i was having so much trouble imaging how someone can perpetuate the excitement of a situation to the point of meltdown. get some self-control, you know? "i can't breathe!" hahahaha! just fuckin' breathe already!
