Theres so many great things that have been invented that make our lives so much easier, what would you hate to be without?
i would hate to be without a car it gives me so much freedom i'd be fucked without it.

COMPUTER. without my music (which takes up 97% of my hard drive (ps. that's a totally made up percent, I'm just estimating :) ), trashy gossip sites for boring times, word processors (for school. Seriously, my handwriting is pathetic, but I'm an awesome typist), and super-awesome speakers for previously mentioned music, I'd be completely screwed. And pretty bored.

my music collection is standing at over 1,600 songs @ just under 8 gigs. i'd be screwed without my music/speakers as well :p

Hmm... does electricity count as either modern or an invention? If so, then electricity.

I would agree.Without it none of us could enjoy the computer, the tv,the a/c,or even the car.

Oh! Credit cards! That's definately it.

I'd have to say my drip coffee maker. With its timer, I wake up to fresh brewed coffee every morning. I would miss it something fierce.
I've lived without a computer the first 20 years of my life. I could live without it. But no fresh-brewed coffee?! NEVER!!

I guess I would have to live without whatever said object would be first to actually realize how much I depend on it. So until then I would have to say binary code.
And Slipknot, I have you beat. I have over 8,000 songs.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force...does that count? That show has seriously been one of the only sources of happiness in my life. Without Aqua Teen Hunger Force? Why...its possible I could have slit my wrists and bled to death ages ago.

Ya know?

And btw, I have both Psycho and Dread beat with 19.3 gigs of music.

Most of us couldn't live without refrigeration nowadays. Granted you need electricity but they had electricity before refrigeration. Imagine having to get your food fresh everyday, every meal? Couldn't be done, in a modern city.
All those other things are just luxuries.

Plastic, because every great invention today almost always requires it. Without it we would not have the gadgets, toys and gizmos we have.

I agree. The idea that you can go almost anywhere in the world and just punch in some random numbers and talk to someone on the other side of the world is amazing and thats just simple cell phones. They're getting more advanced everyday. Quite scary almost
