Id say to just make all seals as tight as possible, and have no air leaks anywhere. Also to make the hole at the bottom very small, but still with good flow
Best used with dank :stoned:

I tried making one and it was the dumbest thing I've ever done. I used a empty gatorade bottle (1L atleast) and burnt a hole in the bottom of it with a lighter, used a socket as the bowl on the top, filled it with water, had the bowl packed and I did everything correctly and when I was letting the water fall out it wasnt making enough pressure to make smoke in the chamber and water was just squirting out all over my bathroom, it was a fuckin disaster. The bowl didn't even get a cherry I think, let alone get lit.

You might have made a mistake, but for me its usually a fairly clean process.

what about using a gatorade cooler such as the one below...
the nozzle that despenses the water would be perfect just drill a hole for a bowl and attach a few hooka pipes

i use a sobe bottle with a hold drilled in it.
but before all the water comes out i plug the holes and swoosh the water around the bottle to make the hit cooler.
so ya dont choke.
try it

Welcome. And the guys are right. Bigger the bottle, bigger the hit. But also heavier, and harder to use.

Nice. This is just an idea, but has any one ever tried making a bong using running water, i.e. a hose(?)
Wel technically the water is flowing out of the bong anways mate so dont really see how this could make a difference.
Just remember to save a bit of water at the bottom and shake it to cool the smoke otherwise itll be a harsh muthaf**ker. And keep the drainage at a steady pace not too fast and not too slow and youll be buzzing :)

I have a Skyy Vodka bottle that I made into a Waterfall. They have the same little notches on them as the sobe bottles.
And I never pull that thing out except as a party favor. It hits waaaayyy too hard to be used in normal smoking. The smoke is so thick and dense that even a baby hit hurts the lungs and starts you coughing.
I had a friend who didnt listen when I explained about the bong and playing nice with it, and took a huge rip out of it when it was passed over to him, and he sat outside for 30 minutes coughing and vomitting... and he wasnt trying to clear it either, it was just a decent sized normal hit, but huge for that bong.
I love me my gravity bong though. I dont smoke out of anything else if its just me. Made it from a Faygo bottle, and a tall plastic beer cup from a baseball game. Works like a champ.

Are the average homemade waterfalls safe to smoke from because of the plastic.

Nah man it's perfectly fine. Unless your deliberatly burning the plastic with your lighter and inhaling that smoke/fumes. The smoke inside the bottle isnt hot enough to melt/burn the plastic, ya feelin me?
