as the psychologist said, it's a pretty common occurance to just put up with it.

it's one thing to say what'd you do at any given moment, it's quite another to actually follow through with what you said...

i'm not female, but i can tell you, i'd of done the same thing.. infact, i already did :(

I think the element of surprise combined with youthful naivete and fear probably made her more likely to fall for that scam. I'm not sure how I'd have reacted as a teenager. I do know how I'd react now, though. That poor girl thought she was required to stay there and comply.

wait what?! i think i missed something, why was she naked in the office on the first place? and why did they feel they needed to listen to some dumbfuck on the phone? ... sad, very sad... she's very pretty, it's too bad she's probably scarred for life now

i'm pretty sure the fiance and the caller were in on it together, just for cheap thrills..

as in, caller calls in claiming to be some high rep for mcdonalds, more than likely 'hired' (whether for money or not) by the first guy...

only other way would be the caller himself is on it, and the first two were just complete retards... it doesn't take hardly any brain power to know it's wrong, nor does it take any brain power to know a strip search doesn't take 3 hours nor does it involve jogging/bouncing (sqaut and cough) or spanking..

but i think the guy was in on it cuz everytime that one woman was coming in he'd throw the appron back on her...

Yeah, they were in on it together. The guy who was the so-called manager's fiancee and the guy on the phone who was monitoring through the camera. They've aired this story on ABC News "PrimeTime Live" twice. The poor kid was at a weight disadvantage, and she was vulnerable because even if she had escaped she'd have had to run naked through the restaurant. As it turns out, those guys who conspired to pull off that scam had done it in other restaurants, too.

Her parents have filed a plaintiff's action against McDonald's that may have even settled by now. What they needed to do--and y'all remember this with your kids or future kids--is to teach them not to blindly obey any adult under any circumstances but to use their own judgment about what feels right and what doesn't. It's that blind deference to adults no matter what that gets kids, even bigger ones like teenagers, in trouble with pedophiles and other predators.

When I last saw it aired on ABC News a year or so ago (it was a re-run then), that case was making its wat through the legal system. I'm be curious to know what happened, too, and whether there was any successful criminal prosecution. I expect we won't ever know what amount McDonald's settled for legally if they have indeed settled with the girl and her parents by now; those settlement terms are always confidential.

hmm interesting and disturbing... this article provides insight that this was not an isolated event but a string of many simmilar crimes, of an officer calling restaraunts and setting up the hoax... perhaps they were not in on it, but just too dumb to realize what's going on. The psychology behind the event brings to mind the obedience experiments of Stanley Milgram and The Stanford Prison experiment... interesting article... have a look

A hoax most cruel (http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051009/NEWS01/510090392)

they werent in on it, the caller was runnin a test on a theory, i dont remember the name, it says that people will do things that may seem immoral if instructed by people of high social status, the caller said he was a police man, he had done it in other McDonalds. it is pretty stupid but they also just do this test way back but it was different, a person was asked to administer an electro shock to another person who they couldnt see, just look it up.

There seems to be a lot of discussion as to whether or not the guy was "in on it". Somehow I think you didn't all watch the whole video, he made her give him a blowjob! He's a god damn pervert and a rapist and needs to go away for a long time.

I'm equally disgusted by that female restaurant manager too. She was such a bitch, refusing to take any responsility, outright denying that the girl was begging her for help. It's painfully obvious she was lying about her ignorance of the situation, she needs to go away for just as long as the guy who raped her, and the caller.

As to the orinal poster's question; no, Americans are not that crazy. Humans are that crazy! The world's atrocities will never fail to surprise you. After all, look at how bad gang violence is getting in your homeland of Britian. I see people from every corner of the Earth comitting acts that baffle me as to how one human can do that to another and not feel remorse.

btw, at the end they were about to reveal who the caller was, saying "...astonishingly we found out it was..." then the video ends. Anybody know what they were going to say?

i didnt find more of the video but after looking into the story they find it's not an isolated event and the guy had called about 13 other restaraunts in the area over a few month period... theres more on it in the article i posted.. and yes that donna summers is totally a bitch for denying whats clearly a cry for help and claiming her ignorance to the situation, there's many to blame here

The girl is like 17 years old! It is not like the guy had a dang gun to her head or something. She should of said something to that lady that kept walking in or she should of just ran out of the door. I mean come on! She let him spank her for ten minutes straight! Pretty weird. It isn't really her fault but when you are her age you should at least be able to think up of something.

The whole premise is so ridiculous that any sane person can only assume that indeed all Americans are indeed incredibly stupid.

Is she supposed to be hiding quarter pounders under her armpits? a STRIP SEARCH at McDonalds? What the flying monkey fuck? It would make sense if she worked at the mint or CIA or something, but McDonalds? There's just so much stupid going on here that it seems almost staged.

If given the choice, I think most young girls would probably rather walk out naked than give an old balding guy a blowjob in a fucking Mickey D office.. She must have really felt intimidated to go *that* far.

She'll get buckets of money if she settles, probably on condition she sign a non-disclosure agreement, the dumb fuck guy will likely get time and she'll never eat at Mickeys again. She'll get over it.

What pisses me off is that the moral of this story is 'be a stupid helpless victim, humiliate yourself on national TV and get a huge payday.'

wow something about this bothers me SOO MUCH. what the hell. WHY? why would you do that?? why?? he needs to go away for along time.. how could someone think of those kinds of things to do to another human being?? i mean.. how sick do you have to be to be able to actually DO that to another person? i dont believe it.
