How many hours sleep do you get a day on average? because if you're sleeping at a normal time everyday at not waking up until 5-6ish the day after everyday then you need to see a doctor thats not normal mate!

I slept through every earthquake when I lived in Cali. And one of 'em knocked stuff off the bookcases in my room.

It's been my experience that teenagers and young adults sleep more heavily and deeply than they do when they get older. They're not unlike babies, who can sleep through anything, practically. My son, who's 21, sleeps like a dead man. For up to 10 hours at a stretch.

Do you get enough sleep, BlazinIt? Because I was reading a few weeks ago that when adults go to sleep do deeply that they can't easily be waked, it is sometimes an indication of sleep deprivation. Also, do you have any other sleep "issues" like night terrors or sleep paralysis? Are you on any medicines that might be affecting your sleep? Normally we sleep in alternating active and quiet cycles, and there are stages during the quiet cycles where we're in heavy, deep sleep.

It usually takes a specific environment for me to slip into a careless deep sleep. Most of the time I just dont sleep. Sometimes I lay down and recharge myself, repair my muscles, reorganize my cluttered brain, but sometimes I do it in REM stage, sometimes I do it with my eyes open. I dunno. I guess its just how I came up.

I dont sleep very much birdgirl, and when i do i will sleep 12 hours at a time. or i will just sleep about 5 hours and go to work 5 hours work 5 hours work. Also I have nightmares all the time, and i never seem to wake up in them only when im about to die. But iv been getting good in my dreams so i don't die as much anymore lmao.. does that make sence? I do take some medications but im not sure if it messes with the sleep or not.

I don't wake up until I get to school. :p
I literally get out of bed and turn off my alarm clock and go back to bed in my sleep.

I'm not sure what to tell you, Texas Grass, because what interferes with people's sleep varies so much. Chances are if you sleep for at least 90 minutes at a stretch you do have at least one REM cycle and probably dream normally during that, only you don't remember having done so. You could go to your doc and see about having a sleep study done, assuming you have a doctor and access to a sleep clinic (and insurance).

I've read these tips before, and, and some of them have helped me to get better sleep. Exercise seems to make a big difference for me, but not if I do it too late in the day. A good bed and a completely dark, quiet environment make a difference, too. I can't seem to sleep without my dogs nearby!

I used to drink very heavily. I mean, dream. Then, I experienced an influx of endogenous cannabinoids to my hippocampi, due to a head injury. I dream once, or twice, a year, now.

I sleep like a log no matter where I am - it just takes a little longer to pass out when I'm crashing at a friends' place.
