My wife and I just returned from our vacation/honeymoon to Michigan, and man was it exciting! We went to visit friends who used to live here in Idaho, and it was a very interesting trip. While we were there, we experienced record rainfall, flooding, even had a close call with a tornado our last night there. And if that wasn't enough, a bank robber was hiding out two streets down from my friends house. Seems he has robbed banks in five different states, escaped from prison three different times, and had robbed two banks in Monroe Michigan in the same day. The local cops got a tip that he was living in my friends neighborhood, so two cops went to arrest him, and yes, you guessed it, he got away! So the chase was on. Swat teams, F B I, helicopters, literally hundreds of people were hunting this guy. Road blocks, house to house searches, continuous air searches for three straight days, even dogs found no sign of this guy. Gone. Vanished. You have to understand that where this guy ran to was miles and miles of water. Lake Erie on one side, and a nuclear plant surrounded by swamps on the other side. Only two roads in or out, so you would think the cops would get him. Six days go by with no sign of him. So the day before we were to fly home, this guy steals a truck from right in the middle of the search area and gets clean away! You almost wanted to cheer for him. Very intelligent fella, this robber. So now there is a huge reward, and the cops are looking like total idiots. One of the cops who went to arrest him at first was named Fife, no shit!! They should have sent Andy, he always gets his man, don't he? Anyway, we had a blast and plan on going back next year. Michigan is a pretty cool state.

Maybe Michigan needs to train their police force a little better.
