what is the best way to grow hydroponically? i know there are several methods but i was looking for a method where i can still move the plants around.

You could go with a flood and drain table and the plants are in individual netpots filled with hydroton. Make the netpots at least 6 inches and you can move them around with relative ease.
Alternatively, you could go with each plant in a self-contained dwc bucket.
