This will be my first log. I'm already pretty far along but I've been keeping good track.
So check it out, Here we go.

This is pretty easy to explain. I've got 2 diff. bagseeds, one looks sativa dom. the other 2 look indica dom.
There in the attic at this point. 2 26W CFLs hang above them.
MG soil(african violet mix).
No nutes yet.
Heat is out of control maybe 115F during day down to 90F at night.
There in those new folger coffee plastic containers.
24/0 Light.
Don't worry though. I get smarter.
PS using dechlorinated tap water(seachem Prime declorinator)

whoops.. They've already been moved to the closet by now.

By this pic(and the last actually) I've begun using a kgro acid loving plants fert(30-15-15)
Seachem Flourish Micro nutes
Found some Super Thrive(using drop/gal)
I'm also testing the runoff weekly.
By this time I have flushed the soil once.
I've bumped up the light to 6 CFLs in one diy hood. Totaling around 200W of CFL about 10200 Lumens.
also decided to cut to 12/12.

The last pic shows the Sativa dom. I had not decided to ScroG yet.

The one on the right decided to be a good girl, as did the sativa dom. I only had room in my stadium ScroG for 2 so the one on the right goes bye, bye.
I don't know if it too was female but it wasn't showing yet, so the fastest girls win in my race.
Nutes have been switched to MG bloom booster(15-30-15)

Correction: The one on the Left Goes bye, bye.

Re ScroGed my girls. Also this stadium wire rests on the plants and nothing else.
Decided to start using my gandma's molasses.
Still using nutes.
Probably flushed again by this point.
Starting to realize that MG soil sucks for PH.
can't seem to find the lime in the garden section at lowes(to scared to ask anyone :( ).
Fine I'll just go pick up this huge bail of pro-soil and some perlite.

Now you can see what I see. As you can see, I went mylar. I also added 2 mounted rotating fans.
15 Days into flower.
still using the same nutes.
transplanted into larger pots with promix.
also early on I grabbed a clone shoot from the sativa dom.
That clone now survives without the dome.

This view shows my current setup.
2 rotating fans mounted on adjustable mounts.
Chains(and string) hold up my DIY fixture.
DIY fixture consists of the same wire as I scrogged with.
attached is a piece of mylar(from a car window-shade).
all but 2 CFL's are stripped of there cap and hard-wired in.
There's 2 seperate plugs for this fixture, one for Veg, both for flower.

I like this SCRoG. :)
Have you seen 'justaseed' 's SCRoG grows?
Amazing stuff! :)
Kudos!

TURTLE......WB Justaseed......thats his name. Thank you, thank you, I was trying to remember his name the other day to refer someone to his scrog grow. I can sleep again.
Zcomp, lookin good. Did you get your temps down? You musta or the plants would be showin some stress by now if not. As Turtle suggested, search out Justaseed grow log, the guy is a scrog god. You can get some great tips/tricks from him.
Keep pics commin and best of luck,

yeah I got the heat under control now. It was at about 90-95 at the canopy before I moved the Therm/Humidity meter to the canopy.
When I realized how hot it was at the canopy I quikly mounted those 2 fans and its down to a respectable 80-85F.
Of course these guys all started life in my 115F attic. :wtf:

Very nice! If you go to lowe's and don't want any suspicion just tell them your mom sent you ;)
Zcomp

Sorry smokenchoke, I'm a little too old looking to say my mom sent me. And a little too young looking to say I'm really interested in gardening.
The best I've got thus far is to go in work clothes and say I'm doing it for my boss.
turtle420 & bongerstonerdood, I checked out justaseed... Awesome. I'm so aiming to be like him.
One thing I never did was FIM. I was too scared. I'll be alot more brave with my clones.
I'll get some new pics up today, I have installed a new exhaust system cause my girls were steaming up at night(75% RH). When I check em today I'll be checking how they did last night.

Lime is commonly used on acidic lawns.
Don't be afraid to go into the garned (more specificly lawn) department and get some if you need it.

wow man that scrog looks awsome. Did you start your scrog from clones or seeds?
Zcomp
09-10-2007, 05:37 AM
Seeds, and I accidentally scrogged a male(actually I don't know it was a male, just that it didn't show hairs quick enough.
I do have a couple problems now but I can't post pics til tomorrow(my ladies a callin).
I'm 35 Days into flower and about 60 Days since "seedling stage". There about 2.5 Ft tall but as you can see leaning. When they hit 1 foot I tipped them sideways during the transplant and started flower.
Man they look great!! keep up the god work ill be watchin!
Check my gorow out too :-)

Damn!!! Lost camera support.
To total things out:
2-Fems 1/1 indica/sativa
harvested-oct 5 (3 months flower)
Dried 3 Ounces
Summary...
The indica is one-hitter
The sativa is good for morning tokes(get up and do something high)
The Sativa was 4-O's Wet/ 1-O dried
The sativa did not survive revegging
The indica has since been reborn(reveged) and now is my clone mom until I get a good 6-12 clones going. Then back to flower with it and chop it at finish.
I did manage a clone of sativa before harvest so it lives on. But for how long??
That closes this Log. I'm now on grow 2 so when I get camera support again I'll do another log.
Peace out for now.

Cool log!
I like the stadium style scrogs best- especially that there's just a bit more access to underneath, or EASIER access anyway.

Stadium Scrog was fun Stinky but I read about a growth hormone that makes the flat ScroG a more abundant harvest.
So my next is a flat. I'll make an informed decision after that.

Hormones or not, flat screens are for fluoros and stadium screens are for HID. It's all about the shape of the light intensity. HID is round. Fluoros are flat. They radiate light in all possible directions, but the result is a flat layer of light intensity.

Maybe that is the case with your average 4' fluoro. But my setup is all CFL spiral bulbs. I have a light meter and can tell you with out any doubt that the intensity is on a curve. Thats why I decided Stadium to begin with.
But even with intense light on the lower stadium parts, Bud growth was the most limited.
My fixture is 248W/18K Lumens(72L/W), Compared to HID I'm not at much of a loss(aside from localized intensity). Plus I have blue spectrum mixed in there.
I'm not trying to be a snot, But if light from a candle radiates in all directions spherically then light from my round bulbs must also radiate a sphere of intensity.
I agree that after arranging all my bulbs I had more of an oval of intensity. Maybe thats why it will work well for a flat??

Yes I guess I was talking more about fluorescent tubes. I'm scratching my head a little, because unless you are using one bulb, or have several all aimed at the center, I can't picture a ball shaped light intensity. However I have to believe they guy that is standing right there with a light meter. I just hope you are measuring radiant flux and not lumens. And I didn't think you were trying to be a snot, and I hope you don't think I am. Just engaging in a little friendly weed discussion.

Anyone working at a Lowe's or Home Depot is gonna usually be far too dumb to know what you are up to. Most people in the garden center don't even really know much about plants. Check out the the area where they have the bags of cement, pretty sure they have lime there. Can't recall seeing any in the garden area, but I'm in Arizona, and our soil is plenty buffered, so maybe it's a regional thing.

Thanks scagster, But I already "bit the bullet" and walked into a garden & Feed supply and got every thing I needed. I decided that unless they followed me home or took my License info(I would not allow), I really was being overly paranoid. Also the time I went and couldn't find it, They had actually blocked that particular space when I was there.
To opie, I'm sorry, I can never tell when something I type comes off the way I want it too. And its a foolish move to insult ones peers(Unless they really need it.LOL).
Also if my contraption isn't on this log I'll Post it in a sec.

Ya the only pic on this log is shoddy. This is whats up. ;)
its 24" Long. And I'm not sure what the shape is called(in reflector terms) Think "Parabolic" with out the center arch, soooo a ??"bolic"??. LOL.
I'm too high.

Now that, is some pretty awesome stuff.
Talk about DIY. That's one of the coolest reflector/light combos I've seen in awhile. I'm guessing it should work quite well. Are those two in the middle bigger? What do you estimate the total cost of it is?
Zcomp
10-27-2007, 04:02 PM
The 2 in the middle are 42W.
Total cost???
Car window reflector - $3
10 Bulbs - $50+-
Wire caps - $2
2 Spotlights(The painting kind) - $10(used for begin veg, and plug wire for DIY)
Total Cost $65 +-
That white wire frame came from a baby/animal door blocker thing.
If you look close you can see I used another piece for my screen.
Also note that, The 42W bulbs are too large and gangly to use exclusively. And then there's this:
23W=1600 Lumens 69.5L/W
42W=2600 Lumens 61.9L/W

First log? Very nice job, ZComp. When I thought about posting a log I tried to think of things that I enjoyed about other folks' logs. Also, as we are likely to be stoners (no foolin') <G> it is good to repeat some of the info a lot, like how old the plants are (if there's a photo especially) and what kind of plants they are.
Again, nice log, man.

That's what I thought until one of the people working in Home Depot stopped me when I had all the stuff to make a 8ft bong out of a flouro tube. He said, "dude that bong is gonna kill you!" But, anyways it's just innocent supplies.
