Film College/School

Hey everyone!

It's time for me to pursue what I've been wanting to do career wise for quite some time now- film, movie production, editing... the works!

Anyway, I live in Wisconsin, and want out. I've been scouring the internet for schools in North America that I'd like to go to. Money, in the back of my mind is a factor that would limit the possibilities.

I've been looking at the Toronto Film School (Toronto, ON) and it's caught my attention as I'm interested in the school first off, and I'd like to live in Canada for a while.

Has anyone had experience with this school?

Hows Ontario?

Any recommended schools?

That's a sweet field man. I thought about movie editing and such as that. seems like it would be FUN...
But sadly I have no info...it was just speculation.
I also want to write...and work as a computer/telecommunications director in my local hospital. I got tha hook up..

Syracuse University has an excellent communications program and my school Boston Uni. also has a competitive program

I've known people that have gone to Toronto Film School. On two different accounts i've heard it's an ultimate waste of 23,000 dollars.

I've heard good things about USC. Lots of filmmakers and actors have gone through there and continue to visit often. I was talking to someone high up at USC this summer, ( I shouldnt really say who ) but he told me they're redesigning the facilities there with studios equivilent to those which hollywood films are made in. I'll be applying there, but I'm an actor.

I only know US film schools. USC of course is a biggie, then NYU, UCLA, CAL, and the one i attend Georgia State.

I was just checking some info on some out, when I received a call from the recruiter or whatever from Brooks Institute in Cali. After checking into it... FAR too expensive for what I'm looking for.

If I was to attend a film college in the states, I'd shoot for something on the west coast or desert area most likely. It's where I feel I'm most inspired.

So 2/3 negative counts winning... dang,, not exactly shoeing me out the door at this point.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to make my decision based upon what people heard, but it's nice to get a mixed review on some maybe more unknown, yet reputable schools... Keep the suggestions flowin!
