"Steve Graham points out that you and I are, ourselves, more like a wave than a permanent thing. He invites us, the reader, to think of an experience from your childhood, something you can remember clearly; something you can see, feel, maybe even smell, as if you were really there. After all, you really were there at the time, weren't you? How else would you remember it?
But here is the bombshell...
You weren't there! Not a single atom that is in your body today was there when that event took place. Matter flows from place to place and momentarily comes together to be you. Whatever you are, therefore, you are not the stuff of which you are made.
If that doesn't make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, read it again until it does, because it is important."

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed into a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness, experiencing itself subjectively, there's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, in which is an imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather." - "Third Eye" , TOOL

Yay Quantum Mechanics!

But I am here right now right, I mean I'm sitting here, so all those atoms are together.. so yay! I exist!
That's much like saying if you jump into a river and get out and jump into it again, are you really jumping into the same river?
Well, yes, the river is always going to be the same name, and it's the same river. Your just not jumping into the same water.
I dont know if that made sense, OR if it really has anything to do with this thread.

conciousness has nothing to do with what you actually are, which is the entire universe

Im confused....Is this saying that I am not what I originally was? I am not made out of the same matter that I was born?

As the famous saying goes, "you are what you eat." The matter within your body departs in one way or another, and must be replaced. When we eat and drink, we are taking matter from somewhere else and it then becomes a part of us... temporarily.
Well, look at it this way.
Humans are made up of cells. These cells grow, live and die. We shed cells like a snake sheds a skin. Kind of. Anyway, your never REALLY more than 6 months old, in body.
At least i think im right, but im not sure so i wont proclaim to know it all, yet. Haha.

When I was high a couple nights ago I was thinking about what life is.
I came to the conclusion the it is merely a complex pattern in reality that can sustian and replicate itself.
It's exactly like the ripple on water that will spread out and cause other molecules to move a certain way.
In a sense I realized the same exact thing, I just worded it differently.
